(6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA

Hey guys, I upgraded from the latest official release from bell, EVDO REV a seems to be working as I get about 1000-1200 kbit/s with half bars, but no GPS. google maps starts looking for sattelites, but never finds any.

Is there another step I am missing here?

ok...internet working again. but music store just keeps saying Please Wait...
Any ideas?

Music Store does indeed work!

The first load of course takes awhile - I think it locked up on me once & I did a soft reset.

Has worked FLAWLESSLY ever since!

I'm trying this ROM now, the programs see GPS on port com4,
but I cannot get lock for tens of minutes...
only sometimes it locks..

what can I do to improve GPS?


I tried NFSFAN's rom, and run PPST.exe there, and
I did get much faster GPS..

Can I run PPST.exe on this ROM?

YES!!

I downloaded and installed the ppst cab, running it doesn't nothing but lock the phone, as far as service goes; need a soft reset, then everythings fine, but still no GPS, anyone have any ideas?

I loaded OMJ's "Bell OEM" ROM, which has superfast GPS locks and very sensitive,

and then reverted to this one ..

now GPS works wery well, even without PPST ... weird

maybe OMJ's does some tweaking to the radio, that is preserved even if another ROM has been flashed?

Beats me, running PPST is highly recommended though, but if it works, sweet. Glad it worked for ya

Is PPST recomended for Telus, or for Bell only?

is it the PPST that one can run on your ROM as well?
