Re: (6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA
Hey! Can't wait to try this ROM. I've been looking for a good stock"ish" ROM to start cooking my own ROMs. Complete n00b in this regard, but I'm reading and reading (and reading and reading) and trying to find the tools to do this.
Can I ask, what kitchen did you use to cook this ROM? I'm finding it hard to just get started! d/ling now... see how it goes! |

Re: (6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA
First off thanks for the great ROM. What had been holding me back from upgrading was that I really liked the stock Telus Rom.
I notice that it's been suggested that you run the PPST on this ROM but I found that my GPS performance (both speed it locked on to Sats as well as accuracy) were worse after I ran PPST. I did a hard reset and now things are back again (still even after a couple of days). I use Google Maps, Windows Live Search and Tom Tom 6 with the Astro Launcher. Otherwise I run basically stock programs only, not many add ons. RG |

Re: (6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA
Will installing any of these Rom's help at all with signal strength? I'm with Bell and I have recently moved from an area with great reception to an area in a city, where I am dropping every call. Thanks

flash coke.40 unlocker and then flash your carrier.exe rom. It will overwrite coke's unlocker. Just as factory state.

Re: (6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA
You CANNOT revert to the original telus rom, as one doesn't exist.
You CAN flash a rom that has the exact components, but you cannot relock your phone to a non-hacked state. For telus users, it makes no sense to revert. |

Re: (6/26/08) Telus/Bell Stock Rom with GPS/RevA
Alright, I tried this ROM and my data connection is broken..
Here were my steps, hopefully someone can help me out: -Installed Unlocker 2.31 -Installed Alltel rom -- however I let the customizations run -Installed Bell ROM - GPS wasn't working, and neither was data -Re-installed Alltel rom -- didn't let customizations run this time -Installed Bell ROM - haven't tried GPS, but data is not working When dialing #777, it just dials forever and then gives me the prompt that says it couldn't connect for whatever reason. I thought bout going back to Bell stock rom and then doing it all over again, but when I tried, the RUU said invalid phone or something like that. EDIT: Oops, saw that I gotta flash 0.41 unlocker first then install the bell stock rom...I'll try that when I get home I guess Also, in the beginning of the thread, people were saying to flash the Sprint ROM first as opposed to the Alltel rom. Is there any difference? Anybody help me please? Last edited by Spor 13; 07-11-2008 at 12:45 PM. |
