With cellular communication becoming more and more ubiquitous on newer vehicles, it's only a matter of time before the insurance lobby uses their power ($$) to influence congress and automakers to connect the OBD-III functions to the cellular functions ... I am presuming that this hasn't already taken place. Of course, when this happens it won't be wrapped in the invasion-of-privacy banner, it will be touted as some type of safety measure to protect, etc., etc.

back on topic ... I think that the phone owner can turn-off the location feature, which prevents tracking from taking place. I believe this is the Location setting in the phones control-panel setting applet.

Off topic: Privacy protection only refers to uncle Sam. The law nor constitution in no way guarantees you privacy from private or public companies. Furthermore, if you thought otherwise you need a serious cup of mocha.

Then my phone started beeping and i had 15 text messages come in from her phone. I looked at her sent messages, and her phone was resending out EVERY SINGLE TEXT MESSAGE EVER, lol. I quickly held down the end key to turn off the radio so it couldnt send any more out.

Has anyone else had this happen ever? She was kinda pissed because she was getting text messages from old boyfriends all morning, lol.
This happened because her "deleted items" folder was restored. You must NOT restore this folder, or it will send the messages again.
