Unhappy Re: Upgrading Tutorial For Verizon XV6900!!! Radio 3.42.30 with working GPS

thank you for tutorial, the reflash process went very well, but I am having few issues. I can't get my phone re-authernticate. I did remove battery a minute then I did *22801, also I did *228 option 1 and 2, still no luck,

#1. I did #8899 to have Verizion to re-authenticate my phone, the reps ask me to do ##778 and the reps say I should have a option to EDIT on the phone to enter the code. but in which i dont see any EDIT option when I dial ##778 and all I get is unable to make the call, the reps say I should have the option, she ask me to take my phone to the local Verizon store have the tech look at it.

Anyone have similar issue have a solution?

#2. when I click the lower icons "Scenarios.exe" I got a error message " The file Scenarios' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this files.

I used the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe, then run RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.2_Radio_3.42.30 _AM_NV_2.04_Ship.exe
then flash with the
negamann cooked rom from PC Haven.

any suggestion will be great !

TIA

Re: Upgrading Tutorial For Verizon XV6900!!! Radio 3.42.30 with working GPS

I have upgraded everything and everything seems to be working fine. I just can't sync with my Vista WIndows Mobile Sync. It doesn't even recognize the device and I can't set up the partnership manually.

I can however see my device in MY COMPUTER.

Are you running 32 or 64-bit VIsta?

Out of curiosity. did you happen to let the customizations run when upgrading radio/rom?

As for scenarios, use PHM regedit find and change to HKLM\ControlPanel\ETEN\ScenariosOption\Enable=0 ShowIcon=0

1. It sounds like you most definitely have to call Verizon at least once to get the phone working again through the upgrade progress. I'm on a family plan right now (it's just more affordable) so I'd like to know exactly what information they will require from me to get my phone online again. Is it just the account holder SSN? I'm going to be out of state for a while, and especially if I screw up my phone it will be hard for me to get this information after the fact, so any guidance is most appreciated

2. I have insurance on the phone right now. I understand it's likely that it will be rendered useless and the warranty rendered void by doing this upgrade, however, let's say I drop the phone and break the screen. If I try to flash back to a close-to-stock ROM, or intentionally brick the phone, what are the odds they will closely examine the phone upon return? And if they do, does anybody know what the penalty is? I'd like to keep insurance incase something physically happens to the phone, so if anybody has some insight on that, much appreciated.

3. ROM - I've never tried "cooking" my own ROM, but I'm not exactly opposed to that either, however, initially, what's the best ROM? I'm looking for something that's essentially upgraded stock - I don't want a bunch of bells and whistles that I can add in myself later (also I don't want a ROM that modifies the look/feel of Windows Mobile, again, I'll do that myself if I'm inclined to change it) - but I do want a ROM that will work with GPS, especially the "fixed" GPS that doesn't require a soft-reset after going on standby.

4. Finally, what should I expect from an upgraded ROM? With GPS off during normal phone use can I expect to have roughly the same battery life, and are there any issues that will affect the normal operations of the phone? I still want to be able to connect to the data network, text, picture message, etc. and from what I've read it sounds like any issues with those aspects of the device that can get messed up during upgrades can be usually fixed, but is there anything I'm pretty much giving up forever by upgrading?

Again, thanks all for any help, I'm really looking forward to gettin' me some GPS on my phone, I just want to be as clear as possible about what I'm getting into before I do it, so... thanks again!
Just bumpin' in case this got missed being at the end of the last page. Hoping to do the upgrade tomorrow, any help is appreciated

1. I am also on a family plan and all I did was call and say hey my phone isn't authorizing and they sent the a key no questions I just told them my exchange server wiped my device and they called me on my home phone sent what was needed to the phone and away I went. Also the only time you need to call for that, if you even have to it seems some get lucky, is when you upgrade the radio once that is flashed you can change the rom all you want and not have to call.

2. Unfourtunalty I can't help you with the insurance part because I have never paid for it. I would assume that if you crack the screen enough and brick it then they probably won't be able to do much looking into the phone.

3. Check this site out it gives you the easiest way to cook. I used it having never cooked before and my device runs great. Its all gui and point and click.
www.ppckitchen.org

4. GPS is off on my device just because I don't use it but I actually get better life on my device and I use direct push constantly as well as bluetooth is never turned off because I live in the state where if you basically touch your phone while driving its a ticket. I have no issues with pic messages, text or any messages at all. Data connected right up for me and never has any issues.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! That helps a lot! Just one follow-up question... did they have to call you back on your home phone, or just another phone that's not the VX6900? Because I won't actually be anywhere near my home phone when I do the upgrade

Thanks again for answer my questions though

Doesn't have to be home phone any phone but your touch. Some of the better techs can do it while you are on your touch talking with them.

the scenarios part is okay now, i dont see the little icon on the bottom right. Thanks

I did not let the customizations run as you stated on the instruction and while on the tap to customization screen, I did sync it and run custom rom and it went well.
all msm, mms, internet all works. the phone work too, the verizon reps say she did temporary active my phone, beacuse she say I should take it to the local verizon store, but not sure how long will it work, I'm was afraid to take it to the local verizon store

Also I notice on the home page, the icon on the right of the HOME button look like a people where I can enter the my Favorite people, I am only able to add into the first button and the rest even I added and it disappear after I switch around the home or weather button. I can't even delete the first favorite people, once I deleted it and it came back ????
