I know those Sys porting tuts are fairly wrong. Change everything except the obvious such as DPI settings, Lang(If different), IRDA etc.. Then work your way backwards to see what works and what doesn't.

Sys porting is easssssy.

The OEM folder is what we are really after, loads of new stuff in there.

Man you gotta do a dumb-down version of this cuz I have no clue what you are talking about. I agree that SYS porting is fairly easy!

For XIP

Bepe's BuildXIP doesn't work for our devices as of yet. He is working on it.




Ok,

Step 1. You don't need g'reloc for the donor rom. It doesnt matter what the values are from the other device, only your device matters.

Step 2. Feel in your device info in those slots, not the other device but yours. You could even use your orignal .VM folder if you want.

Tons of ways to port, its just what works best for you.

re: diamond VGA vs. touch QVGA

As you mentioned, even _ I _ (captain of teh b00n squad) was able to get SYS from 19588 to the Sprint leaked ROM, but I could only see 25% of the screen (presumably due to QVGA device showing 1/4 of the VGA screen).

so, to overcome this, did you have to manually edit or modify each of the dpi (graphics files ?) after porting the SYS from diamond to touch

did you create or come across a tool that provides some level of automation?

... AND ... HAVE You come across a link to a (legitimate) WWE / RUU for the xperia 5.2.19949 ?

well what i really want to know is if that way of porting the sys folder over was correct because that is what im trying right now. also do i have to port the .xip

^ Nah just keep your .dpi settings.

I use the .dpi settings from the leaked Sprint rom, everything in the VGA System that says .dpi or 192, just leave them behind.

that makes less sense to me than what i was looking at with the sys porting tutorial
