Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!
I have tried about 3 different roms, and I noticed the same GPS locking times in all of them. The only thing that made a difference for me was PPST, which now allows my GPS to lock in within 30 seconds - 2 min max. However there is absolutely no way that holo is getting locks within 5 seconds. I can affirm this strongly, because I have seen professional GPS that are used in field expeditions at universities, and they themselves do not lock in within 5 seconds. There is only one way to achieve a 5 second lock, and that is by immediately after you achieve a lock, you turn off the GPS program, and 1 second later you turn it back on. That is not called a true lock. A true lock is achieved by: When you get your lock, turn off your GPS program completely, put your phone into sleep mode by pressing the power button. Four hours later, turn on your phone and run your GPS program, I guarantee that no one here will get a lock within 5 - 10 seconds, but in best case 25-30 seconds. When people claim they get 10-15 locks that is just pure BS, because there is no way a GPS module on a phone can triangulate 15 GPS satellites, to gather data. The radio in the phone simply does not allow for such high number of locks. Simply put, it doesn't matter how many locks you get, as long as you get above 2, the phone can still determine the position, but not as accurately. I have tried about all the methods of getting GPS to run and lock faster than 30 seconds-2 minutes. But sometimes it just varies on the phone and the hardware itself, and how quickly it sense the satellites. I know people here have professional GPS receivers, and they too can confirm that it is impossible to get a lock within 5 seconds. Whoever is claiming that they can get a lock within 5 seconds after having your phone in sleep for 4 hours is just BS.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!
Those steps are not necessary. All you need to do is flash to a radio version of 3.35 and up, then install and run PPST. Install a GPS program and you will get a lock in a reasonable amount of time.

Ghetto ... I got the GetSPC software - loaded it on the device and ran it against the HEX Id under the battery. It gives me an output number - but when I try and use that to "reset" after running ##786# on the Sprint Leaked ROM - it says the code is no good. So Im stuck at trying to reset the EPST. |

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!
I am on bell, and have not had to do those options, first of all I can't do them, because those numbers don't work on my provider. But updating NAM will not do anything in terms of GPS, they are not even related.
