again, you'll never see it if you're in bootloader.

It installs a modified bootloader ROM - not the same as radio/os/extedned ROM

#4- run the sprint leaked rom.exe (here, close to the bottom where it says "original rom")
#5- allow all customizations to complete and run (i know - it takes a lil while)
#6- allow reboot, then navigate to \windows and run ppst.exe
#7- allow reboot, then check device information in settings to ensure a ~2.03 pri and ~60612/60610 prl.
#8- flash to desired rom.
#9- after she's all booted up, hard-reset.
Hard reset generally not required, but you should do it right after flashing and before booting, not after.

Please keep in mind that if you're not SPRINT, you DO NOT want Sprint customizations to run.

thanks, i agree with everything you said. and i apologize for not updating my list. i have posted it about 3-4 times now and it is hard to remember where/when...i think ill soon just be deleting all of them and sticking a link in place instead, pointing to my flashing how to thread modified for gps.

but i have now edited it to reflect more accurate info as my other posts concerning that do.

however, about the hard-resetting...i recognize (as i think most all of us do) that it is not required, however i have seen it mentioned a number of times as good practice. it seems crazy to me that a flash woulndn't whipe out something that a hard reset might but...whatever
so basically my question is: what is the deal with hard resetting after flashing, and why would you recommend the timing you do?

thanks.

In theory, the bootloader will clear mem on it's own after a flash (this is not true of older devices, where the practice was necessary). The only reason for manually doing so, is if it didn't quite clear everything. Not real likely, but I suppose it's always possible. The reason for sequencing the hard reset BEFORE you boot (if you do it at all - I have yet to see where it helped anyone on this device) is that there's no reason to make the OS completely initialize twice. Also, the hard reset isn't going to clear any more/less because you let the OS boot. So, save yourself some time and flash, optionally hard-reset, then boot.

gotcha ok i see thx for elaborating.

and just for an instance on the vogue...derek once had this issue; bt wouldn't work directly after flash. hard reset, and it worked. after reading that is when i started doing it...

thx!
