I normally would tend to agree with you. , But I tested it thoroughly before and after and had consistent results switching REV A from Disabled to Enabled.

just a quick note......I am currently recooking all my roms, here are some highlights:

• based on stock rom
• latest GPS drivers (couresty of JD, thx bro)
• they will all have the STOCK HTC boot splash, lol

btw....I've also flashed my radio to 3.35, can't say 100% that it's better, all I can say is w/ the 3.35 radio, and the new drivers in this new rom, my gps locks quickly using gps viewer & google.....way better than the v2 rom.

Also, I am cooking an OEM rom for each carrier that is the same base w/o the apps. I have Alltel & Sprint ready now, should have those 2 & full Alltel & Sprint by end of day :D

JD has been an extreme help!!!

Just curious which GPS drivers you're going to be using. Are they the ones in JD's ROMs or the ones in the sticky post about new drivers? (they might be the same, I don't know lol).

Can't wait to try the OEM Sprint ROM :)

I upgraded the verizon 6900 using the alltel upgrade. I then switched to your rom which is much better, however, i cannot get the data to work. It attempts to dial #777 AND THEN HAS A CONNECTION ERROR. Any ideas?

Think of it as a button that says Enable or Disable. If you click on Disable, then it will disable it...if you click on Enable, it'll enable it.

Strange then how I doubled my download speeds by enabling it. My upload speeds did slow way down though.

I think the download speeds were just a coincidence. The upload speeds and pings are two things that Rev A improves.

Ok... so then im "clicking" on enable by switching the value to enable. This is way to confusing.

Regarding another matter, i just backed up my phone for the first time using resco backup (finally got everything exactly the way i want it). If i flash V3 and then run resco backup/restore, will the restore set me back to V2 or will it just rewrite my programs over V3?

loving this rom. was having problems at first; with gps, I think it had to with the phone going to standby. installed S2U2 and changed battery settings to not turn the phone off. Now it is flawless. Gps is connecting everytume. Thanks again.

OMJ, By any chance are you going create a super lite rom which consist of nothing but gps and rev A. Just completely barebone, everything taken out.. even file explore...

Anyone else experience any problems downloading these roms? I desperately want to try one but I've tried 3 different ones....with 2 different browsers....they all quit a little over half way through. Got to over 90% once...about threw my touch/vogue across the room...

So, OMJ, 3.35 or 3.37? There is no inherent danger in "downgrading" to 3.35 from 3.37 since its still a 3.xx radio, correct?

First off let me say I love your roms they are the most stable and fit my daily needs perfectly again Thanks. My only problem is I have followed everything to the letter and cannot get the GPS to work . All the Gps Apps find the gps but either say (sorry cannot communicate with gps ) or google map just keeps searching and never finds a sattllite. All the other ones just find gps ok but never get a fix .

I took the plunge and unlocked flashed alltel and then back to sprint and I recieved a very good result. My GPS stated working well when I changed some setting on GPS today.

I hadt to go to options softkey then settings... i unselected "Disable Data When Roaming" I Also selected "Initiate Connection If Needed". I changed the time selector to 1 hour instead of auto and it just took off. I'm still trying to finetune to get the GPS to pick up faster if you have any ideas please share.

Once my GPS Today started working my Google Maps started working as well. I put in the registry change for the phone dialer coming up unexpectedly.

I performed a speed test just now and i notice when i turn off my fire wall I surf alot fast with my phone. with this new rom i noticed my upload is 4 times as fast now than when i just had the alltel rom running. Great job and development. You make me want to learn how to cook.

The GPS drivers are from JD......according to JD, the original drivers were from the leaked titan rom 3.16, the newer drivers are from the offical titan rom 3.35.

I don't know whats wrong w/ the ftp, but I've been trying to upload since yesterday, keeping getting disconnected. so for now, using megaupload.....sorry, but I only have 2 OEM versions ready, I'm testing a loaded sprint, but still working out some issues.....not sure when I'll get em all uploaded...I'll modify the 1st post when complete.

Both these OEM ROMs DO have UC, there is no carrier customizations!

Check in the EPST menu, access it by going under programs - phone codes, then 778. Or dial ##778#, or use resco/total commander to access the EPST.ink file in the windows folder (its a hidden file). Click "view info" then you can go under "data parameters" to see if Rev A says disabled or enabled. To edit this setting you will need your MSL (call sprint and say that you are reprogramming your phone and need your MSL number, if the rep is a jerk about it, call back and get a different rep).

Its still up in the air as to what setting actually "enables" Rev A. Some seem to think that if Rev A says "disabled" then you are actually getting Rev A. Others say that when Rev A says "disabled" then Rev A is disabled and you are not getting Rev A speeds. Personally, i dont get Rev A speeds either way, so i left it "disabled."

Hey OMJ, imcokeman put up a new post last night suggesting that it is a bad idea to install the Titan GPS radio (3.35). Do you know why? Having tried both which radio do you prefer 3.37 or 3.35, any problems since the downgrade? Thanks.

Also, if i have 3.37, this new ROM will still work fine, correct?

And finally, if i did a backup using spb backup on your V2 ROM, can i just run a restore after flashing your V3 ROM to restore all my info/programs without causing problems?

I don't believe he was referring to downgrading from 3.37 to 3.35, but going from a 3.xx Radio to a Non-GPS Radio is what he was referring to.

Imcokeman's signature clearly states that installing the Titan GPS radio (which is the 3.35 radio) on the Vogue is a bad idea! Why, im not sure, but its there, go look at his latest stickied post.

1st of all, flashing to the 3.35 radio is at your own risk......comparing the 2, rev a speeds were about the same, but gps definitely seems to work much better on the 3.35.

yes, having the 3.37 will be fine.....I would test it out, if you have problems w/ gps, and are willing to try 3.35, then try the 3.35 radio, thats what i did.....all i can say is that i havent needed to load the kickstart or anything else for gps to work......with the exception of gps viewer.

your backup should work fine, as with anything, give it a try, if it fails, you can always hard reset.

btw....cokeman has had that statement in his sig for a long time, i think even before the new alltel rom came out.

Hmm, in that case, maybe ill try the 3.35 radio. I thought that was a relatively new addition to his signature. Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like ill be at my computer for a while, adding the 3.35 ROM and the new V3 ROM and then custom installing all my old programs as most people are saying that spb backup will not sit right with a new ROM flash. THANKS!
