Make sure you try the rom w/ 3.37 1st.....no need to take a risk if all is good.

Tried the new V3 rom, and everything loaded great! For some reason the HTC keyboards are not working correctly. Additionally there is no built in Java client, but this isn't a big deal.

OMJ: I'm sure you've tested these ROMs...have you had any of the standby GPS issues with them?

I've had good luck with the cab posted and the standby issues, but I'm going to try your's without that and see how it does.

Just a quickie, do we need anything to kickstart the gps drivers in this ROM i.e. the GPSkickstart_GPSEnable.cab?

Well I downloaded live local search and tried to enable GPS. Everytime I do the program crashses. The gps settings for the live local search are set on GPS intermediate driver, and everything worked fine on JD's rom.

edite: Got a lock within 1 minute after I changed GPS from intermediate driver to com4!

I am new to this and basically have a virgin Touch that I want to get Rev A/GPS installed. where in this forum could I find direct instructions on how to do this with OMJ's WM6.1. I have downloaded the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31 unlocker , the RUU_Vogue_4350 alltel and the OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.sprintv2. so far. Is there anything else i need to get beside the instructions. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You can flash back to your original oem rom and then upgrade again is a good safe way to do it. Just make sure you use the unlockers as instructed...

Anyone have any idea if VistaCube will work on this ROM? I know it didn't work in the Alltel ROM because they changed something.

Well, I've installed and I can't seem to get GPS to work. I've installed the ROM. Hard reset. Installed Google maps. Set it to COM4 and 4800 and it says that it can't find the gps unit.

OMJ, I did some more testing. Everything is working great besides the HTC keyboards. If you could please fix this bug and re release the firmware that you be greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work!

OK, I've hard rest again and only installed the Garmin-XT. It seems to be working just fine!! Awesome. However, when I fire up Google Maps, it can't find the GPS device. I've set it to COM4 and yet it still finds nothing. (Also, before this ROM Update, Google Maps used to allow you to select Automatic GPS Setup or Manual.) Now I only have the choice for Manual. What am I doing incorrectly, I never had to configure Google Maps with the previous V2 Rom. Literally all I did was open it up and voila, it worked. ](*,) And my HTC Keyboard doesn't work either.

Can someone who's running Google Maps please post what version they are running. I'm trying the latest, 2.0.1.31. And I can't get it to work. Live Search GPS works fine and so does Garmin....

When I open Garmin or Live Search and get a lock -and keep them open (usually takes only a few seconds) and then open Google Maps, Google maps works fine. If I close them, then try Google Maps, it can't find the GPS device.

I have noticed your posts but I do not know how to help you. I feel your pain though. I have several posts out there that have not received any responses either.

Unfortunately, there are some issues that not many people know how to fix.

I've tried installing the May 9th Sprint exes but its says RUU is corrupt... is thre a different link for the latest .nbh file ?

Okay, I wasn't sure if people were overlooking it. I guess I'll have to wait for a sprint-based rom to come out that has it.

I also tried the latest ver of Google Maps .31 and same as everyone else , i tried uninstalling it and it got all mucked up soo... i hard booted and started again. The older version works very well.

It's not Google Maps, it's the ROM. I just installed the leaked Sprint GPS ROM and installed the same version of GoogleMaps and it works just fine.

You installed the leaked rom and got gps working out of the box? Without any additional cabs? I thought they left virGPS or whatever out of the dump? (If you used the kitchen, I think they added it in)

Virser_gps.dll is not really needed for gps to work however it may help out a little

NO, I did use the GPS Kickstart and the .dll. Then it worked fine.

i cant wait for him to release his version of it. i have no GPS at all with this oem sprint rom, or REV A for taht matter, just like flashing back to stock....back to V2 for now

I have no problem with the gps on his new oem sprint rom. Unfortunately I can't test rev a because sprint only has 1x here. I am having a problem with a few programs on this rom. Every so often I get an error and the app closes, and that never happened with the v2 rom. But as far as gps, i got a lock within 1 min and it's working better than it did in v2.

how are you getting it to work? what program are you using? google maps says i have no GPS reciever. i install the GPStoday and i cant find it anywhere but in the remove programs list, so i cant even active it on the today screen.

i think i will try the kitchen and make my own rom, never done it before......

Google maps tells me it can't access my receiver but knows it's there. I run Mini GPS Viewer so I can see what's happening and then Google Maps works fine. I just have to keep mini gps running in the background while I'm using google maps.

fyi----I'm suspending my current roms to check out the new sprint rom....there's no sense in building a rom that's part Kaiser, part Alltel, part Sprint when there's a new sprint that has it all.

I'm sure it wont be long b4 I have some customs out.....


btw....on the oem sprint in this thread, gps is working fine for me.....but I open GPS using GPS viewer 1st, then google & locks within 10 sec.

Old Man Jenkins, what new sprint rom are you referring to? One that you made or from sprint? Well have quite a few questions so let me ask the most important, I know you were working on a V3 sprint rom, is it available? Thank you for your time and help.

I hope this is your ROM based on the original leaked sprint ROM. I am still using V8 of ur 6.1 ROM and was waiting for official sprint ROM before flashing. Do u suggest I do it now?? I am using a sprint Vogue on Reliance network in India. Thanks

Yes, the rom is based on the leaked sprint rom, but it's basically OEM, I'll be adding all my usual apps very soon. See 1st post....I've already updated.

Hey OMJ, thanks for your time and effort on getting these roms out so quickly. I have a noobish question to ask but does it really matter if I flash my bell touch with this leaked sprint rom? I usually stick to the bell roms just for peace of mind....but I really want to try this leaked rom out. Any chance that there is a bell one kickin around too?
