Well, I seem to be getting GPS satellite locks in Google Maps now, took a long time though. And I'm still only getting about 2-3 (constantly fluctuating).

I'm right outside of Toronto, in the GTA. Should it be this hard for it to get locks?

Edit: 4 locks now. But still, it's taken me 20 minutes just to get these locks, others are saying it's only taking ~30 seconds. Am I missing something?

yah Im in halifax and I dont get any locks at all even after 20 mins. Using gpsviewer I can see about 12 sats but they never lock....I think most people who are having luck with this are in the US and it must be something to do with our carrier........bummer!

Running ppst.exe will lead to much faster locks. Unfortunately, in addition to updating the GPS part, it also messes with the carrier specific connection settings, hence you cannot run Sprint's ppst on Bell. Isolating only the GPS code would be very nice...

Does anyone know how to change the weather on the HTC Today pluging shows in Celsius? I've changed my regional settings accordingly, rebooted and refreshed the weather, but it's still in Fahrenheit.

Edit: Nevermind, got it :)

For future reference, to do this, go to the City Select screen > Menu > Weather Options, and you can change it there :)

Installed the customized Sprint ROM (guess it's still v1). Added Opera Mini 4.1. My radio is 3.37.10. Wanted to get a "free" Opera Mobile 8.65 (which is a crippled version - no search here unlike retail) and get rid of the popups warnings in the old OMJ 6.1 GPS ROM.

First, old nightmares returned - the phone hanged while using Live Search. I left my Touch to search for satelites, when came back the screen was off and the power button would not revive it. Had to reboot. Similar thing happened while using opera mini. When the phone was connected to power, the charge led would not light, i.e. the phone was totally dead.


Second, JBED version here is 200801.., in the old OMJ 6.1 GPS rom I was using it was 20080222. Opera Mini frequently gives uncaught exception error. There was no this problem in the old OMJ rom and it was also much faster - it takes ages in 200801 till the keyboard removes itself after pressing "enter". Tried to switch to OEM Sprint rom (with customizations disabled by OMJ). Opera Mini still crashes.

Third, did not see any difference with GPS locks, though I did not upgrade radio or ran PPST (I am on Bell).

Reverted back to the old OMJ Bell rom. Having again all kinds of warning popups, but everything is better than crashes.

well I had my first gps lockup in three days and now after having quick locks for those 3 days now I cant get a lock but see max satellite I think it has something with the gps cache filling up I don't know if there is a way to clear it out anyone know ?
