what I meant was the post-flash carrier customization that runs after calibrating the screen, time password....leaving that in would have caused negative affects for non-sprint users.....but my roms (for now) will always be based on sprint.

Hi, I followed the instructions to use version 2.13 unlocker and installed the OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.OEM.Sprint.NEW.exe image. The install appeared to complete successfully however when the unit rebooted, I see the HTC logo with rom version, then it hangs at the HTC logo. Any idea what happenned or how I can recover from this issue? I have a Sprint HTC Touch.

this has been posted a few times, but try running the leaked exe 1st, then mine.

If you're wanting a different touchflo (or anything else) I'd recommend us the ppckitchen.

Re: OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A!

Just a quick couple of questions guys (please bear with me, I'm completely new to modding phones lol):

1. I'm currently using a Vogue from Bell Mobility running the stock ROM, can I upgrade to this ROM directly from mine, or should I upgrade to the leaked Sprint ROM first?

2. After upgrading, will I have to reconfigure my phone to work with my carrier again or anything like that? (Ie. Once done, will it still be working with the Bell Mobility network and under my account as if nothing ever happened, or will I have to change a bunch of settings again?)

3. Does the use of the GPS function require a plan from my carrier, or can I use it freely?

I would greatly appreciate some help with this, like I said, this is the first time I've ever messed arround with a Winmo based phone. I'm a very experienced computer user though, so don't get me wrong, I'm willing to take risks and such.

Thanks guys :)

Hey OMJ, just wondering if you could point me in the right direction regarding the default dialer you have on your custom roms. Its not actually the dialer that is on there when you first install the rom, but after removing it from advanced configuration, another dialer comes up and its super nice and very quick I find. Is this something I can download?
cheers

For those of you that are not on Sprint, you can use these roms, just like we all used the Alltel Official rom. I have removed the post-flash carrier customization. If you would like to replace the startup animation for your carrier, grab the .gif for your carrier, then rename it to SPCS_startup.gif & copy to \windows.....yeah, it's a dirty fix, lol

Alltel

Verizon
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM...ZW_Startup.gif

Bell

How do you do this? I get permission errors when I try to overwrite whats in there

Hi OMJ,

Just like I said, I love your custom ROM. The only thing is that today my GPS is not working at all. No fix for over 5 mins. Also, sometimes when open any program, my phone tries to connect to internet, which I don't have (Vision, or Data), If I let it goes, then I've got error code 67. It doesn't connect since I don't have vision, but it sure bug the hell out of me.

Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks OMJ.

Re: OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A!

zwen I am on aliant and I have flashed a bunch of these roms. What you need to do is unlock your phone by using Iamcokemans bootloader 2.31. I think there should be a sticky of this - its all over the place. Then as far as getting gps (which is what I think you want to do) you have a few options, you can flash the alltell rom (sticked) that puts on the 3.37.10 radio, or you can flash the newest sprint rom (sticked) that will give you 3.37.15 radio. (This is the radio part). For both, you need to reset your touch before the customizations step because you are on bell and those customizations will put some funky stuff on your phone. Then you need to unlock again using the same 2.31 bootloader. Then you can flash any rom you want really (this is the software part). OMJ currently has a stock rom and a custom rom, both are pretty sweet. Since he has removed the customization part in these roms you dont need to worry about reseting before the customizations step. good luck, welcome to the world of customizing, I'll warn you it gets pretty addictive !
cheers

edit: as far as your questions go --> you dont have to set anything up after you flash if you follow those directions - everything will work with bell/aliant (just dont let those customizations run)......and GPS is free to everyone!

yes, flash the leaked rom 1st....but dont let carrier customization run after calibration/time set/password.

your phone should work as normal, but it will have a sprint look.

no, you can use gps w/ google or live or any map/gps program

I'm not sure how that works, but I see what you're referring to, it must be like a core dialer.....when u disable in adv cfg, you're just disabling the skin graphics.

A better way would be to not rename the gif, then copy to \windows. Then use Advanced Config to change the path of the animated gif to your new gif.

Thanks OMJ.

I didn't think gps neede a data connection, but depending on which program you are using it may need data.

Thanks earthdan! :) Just to make sure I understood correctly though...

1. Unlock my Vogue using IamCokeMan's 2.31 bootloader
2. Flash to Sprint ROM for 3.37.15 radio
3. Do NOT run customization step (will this run automatically forcing me to quicky have to reset, or does it ask for confirmation first? That's got me a bit nervous :p Also, is this Soft or Hard reset?)
4. Unlock again using 2.31
5. Flash to OMJ's ROM

Is that right? And thanks for confirming about the GPS, that is indeed what I'm after for the most part :)

Edit: Thanks for the confirmation as well OMJ :)

Try Resco file explorer. I think it will let you overwrite an existing file. It has that option under Menu -> Options -> General ->FilesTab

flashing the leaked rom does not require being unlocked, but flashing a custom does.....just imagine the leaked rom as a official release from your carrier, just run it, but skip the customization (yes, soft reset quickly, it gives u 3 sec). then unlock to flash a custom rom.
