Re: OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A! Updated 5/29/08

I flashed up to the OMJ 6.1 V3 rom, no issues everything took the 1st time. GPS works, ect... Now in day to day useage it shows the data connection sometimes as "Phone as Modem" and sometimes "Sprint PCS" It seems to do this after using GPS, as if the GPS changes the mode, but not always. I do NOT use it as a tethered connection for my laptop. I do a LOT of streaming radio (2-4 gigs a month)and I am concerned on what this shows in Sprint's Billing system. When checking the Sprint website I did notice on my older bills they only show for about 1/10 of my data usage on a unlimited billing plan. My voice/data plan dates back to my Old Toshiba/Therea 2032 (my how far PDAs have come:mrgreen:) I just don't want to have a $300 phone bill. Has anyone running the new 3.xx rom's with 6.1 either straight or with the OMJ version noticed anything on their bills? has anyone been running a updated phone rom long enough to GET a bill?

Thanks lvdata

Would just using the kickstart and placing it into the startup folder without installing the drivers be of any benefit or detriment?

thanks

Is there no Comm Manager in the Alltel build?

What I would suggest is use the registry editor to remove (delete) the registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] "Extension"="rilphone.dll" and HKLM\Software\OEM\WMODEM all to 0 (disabled) for the Multi-NAI.

What does that do for streaming radio?

OMJ I just got a random error:

Cannot execute calnot.exe
It was just sitting there and decided to report that.

His concern was excessive usage and possible charges that might follow so that should limit his data tracks on there end. Also I notice people make a concern about the Sprint PCS vs. Phone As Modem theres no significant difference I use them both and have yet to be charged anything extra.

Does that work for all carriers? I want to stream audio too.

Getting the same error on two OMJ v3 Sprint ROMS. Doesn't seem to hurt anything, though, that I can tell...

100 is not very good....the Rx power is the only true way to judge you signal....I am not sure what would have caused a decrease, the only way to be 100% sure would be to have a 2nd touch in hand that was stock 6.0 to compare readings. I am currently about .25 mile from a sprint tower & I'm getting as low as -50 up to -70.....if you happen to know where a sprint tower is (you can google for a map) get within a half mile & check your Rx power.

Updated my PRL to 40410. Still very little signal. This all seemed to start after I went up north where there was no cell coverage at all. Any correlation?

40410 is not updated, lol....hell I dont if see that prl.. http://www.corolada.com/prl/ 60612 is the latest & is also what is included in the leaked sprint rom.
A friend with a stock touch and I got together and he had a Rx power of -70 and four bars, while I had Rx power of -105 and no bars. I can't seem to lock onto a roaming signal either. Do you think it could be the radio? Is there any danger of downgrading to 3.37.10? The PRL 40410 is what automatically installed when I dialed #2. I had 60612 first. Again I really appreciate the input.
