I got it to work. I thought the .exe was a self extracting .rar because my WinRAR gave it that icon. So I extracted the things inside instead of just running the .exe. Ran the .exe and everything worked out perfectly. Thank you imcokeman.

imcokeman, maybe it would help ppl to put "be sure to RUN the exe, do not explore/open it" ?

whenever my computer says to disconnect and reconnect the phone, my phone doesnt establish an activesyc connection, what could i be doing wrong?

after reading through the thread i now see that i dont need to have an activesync connection after being prompted to unplug the cable, but after i go through the instructions it says that it is supposed to take 10 minutes and it doesnt even take a minute so i figure im doing something wrong. also the screen doesnt show anything as far as what my phone has when it gives me the option to press update. it doesnt show the current rom at all. it is just blank.

i tried to format my card to fat32 i just used the formatting tool on my computer, but it still didnt work, in fact it didnt even acknowledge that my storage card had been formatted to fat32 so i had to continue as if it wasnt. and the same thing happened that when i got to the image screen it didnt show that i had anything on my phone

edit.... i dont know how i did it, but somehow it worked, i just said forget it and tried to flash a new rom and it worked, so i guess it was unlocked and i didnt know it.

dont worry about it being able to read the current rom image/version from your device...no big deal, doesnt matter, dont worry about it.

as for it going really fast...it just does. thats not a bad thing/something going wrong. its just fast! be thankful!
