ok sorry for the double post but overall JD this rom ROCKS!!!!!! i just have on complaint and that u took away the htc factory keyboard and htc factory keypad. is there a way i can get them back probably from the htc website?

Read that. While it states it is for the Titan... the process and theory behind it is the same for the Vogue. The nbh file that is JD's ROM can not be turned into an EXE like you are wanting...

thats what i thought i did but i am assuming i didnt do i correctly. i seem to have the same rom with the same sms that freezes. how would i know if i installed the correct rom

I think Device Information will show the ROM version. Usually the custom ones have the chef's name in it.

all u have to do is download the JD custom rom thats in the 1st post than when u download it and extract it to ur desktop delete the RUU_signed.nbh since the one in the 1s post is old. than download the new RUU_signed.nbh that in post 100+ and download it to ur desktop than click on ROMUpdateUtility and thats it

got it to work. dont know why it wouldnt before

I have loaded new ROM, looks like it is freezing for me @ initial boot?

It is stuck for me @ "This program will transfer Caller ID to your BT Headset..." Doesnt let me click on HIDE/EDIT or X or anywhere!!

it did the same for me u just have to do a sft reset twice and you will be fine

Am I supposed to put Touch in bootloader mode ? Or does the tri-color screen mean it is already in bootloader mode ?

I am getting an error after the wizard ends the initial questions and then the progress shows up as 0%... it stays on 0% for couple minutes and then gives an error message.

Flashing ROM from Vista.
 

Please don't flame me for this post. I have searched several times, but keep finding conflicting, incomplete or outdated information.

I am running Vista (32 bit, not 64). What do I need to do to flash this rom to my Touch? I tried flashing a rom to my 6700 from Vista and could never get it to work. I actually had to swap out the drive on my machine to boot from XP to do it. I'd rather not do that again. It was a PITA.

you have to unlock it first.

I did unlock and am good now.

Internet Explorer won't start up it closes immediately.

hmm i had that problem too with the old set up, you sure you used the new rom? whats the dialer look like?

you're still in the old rom, the new rom looks like an iphone dialer. download the first link then extract it and replace the file with this one ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....RUU_signed.nbh

Wows ! This ROM is pretty nice.

Except - I noticed that smart dialing is not enabled. i.e., when I dial only a few characters of the name, stock ROm used to bring up a frop down list with all matching names, this one does not...

Is there something I need to do ? I have close to 700 contacts and find the feature missing - any help will be appreciated.

Well I'm just gonna hold my breath and wait for the Sprint GPS/RevA update.... I can feel it.. It's getting close.................

I am considering loading your rom but I have a thought. have you considered doing a rom that includes torx' iphone mod? it seems to be the best one out so I thought maybe you could join forces and cook something up.

you dont have to act like a fool dissing the iphone. if you dont like it thats your business. I love my touch and the fact that it CAN be skinned and rommed makes it even better. if youre not going to contribute then dont be negative.

Is Smart Dialing possible on the new phone skin that JD has put out there ?

wow 700contacts that's a lot haha not sure about smart dialing maybe if you disable that dialer skin and go back to the stock one it'll work. not sure if I remember where the option is though. good luck.and as for turning your phone into an Iphone I agree just go get one if you like it so much that gay fad is over. sorry for the people with that phone worse phone ever. and yes I owned one for a whole night before I went crawling back to sprint.

Can you please confirm if 'Smart Dialing' is possible on the new ROM ?
Also on the CM I can't seem to be able to drag the slider to say 'U" and see the names starting with U. Right now it gets stuck at like G and does not slide down from there :(

Love this rom, havent been this happy with one since my 6700

working on smart dialing / dialer codes / gonna have a fix soon as far as cm I havent really used the scrolling features I'd have to check that out .... that may be a bug from cm

I can not for the life of me figure out how to get Opera Mobile 8.65 to launch on this ROM.

I click it, I see a flash like the logo came up but then it immediately disappears and there is no application running.

Anyone else experiencing this? I've been using PIE, which is absolutely murderous...

in the first rom it had sprint mail, and in second rom doesnt have it
my question is what program do you use for hotmail account or can i insrall sprint mail some how?

Loooking for the same answer. The original Rom that cameon the Vogue allowed me have the outlook inbox bring in my hotmail account. However now it appears the only way to get my email is through Windows Live. Am I missing something?
