the threaded sms is not a shortcut issue. when ever i try to use pcm sms it shuts its self down

it is a variant of HTC stock rom that gives 10MB more storage using Tadzio's tools (better compression). Nothing else was modified in this ROM.

Jak I dunno what everyone's gripe is with the threaded sms. I think its fantastic. The problem I had was when using the Home shortcut, it would open the standard messaging app first. I just want a cleaner rom though. Where can I get that modified palm messaging app from? That would be great...

my problem with the sms is that the keyboard covers up the text box so i cannot see what i am typing. Also when i recieve an sms and try to read it, it takes very long to load, sometimes freezing the phone. Other than that its pretty sweet. I tried looking on here but is there a tread that has touch roms

See that's what I don't get. I didn't see a text box. It started typing out the letters on the top of the screen, and I was able to see exactly what I was typing. Why is it that you had this problem? Did you use the one from Jak's custom rom, or did u install the palm messaging that's floating around online .cab by itself ? Because the one on the rom is moded or tweaked. I actually want the program for my touch. I hope someone tells me where to get it, i've been searching for it.

Does this ROM have solitaire removed?

No, the solitaire is still there and a buch of other games. enjoy

you don't have to log in, you can access the ftp page from the "Qlinks" tab above and select open ftp site ...

it's a cool program thing it that when i try to restore my data with pimbackup the text msg's no longer exist and i think that the pcm version is much better

that's just my thought

that only happens when i am sending a new message. how ever when replying in threaded format, the text box sits at the bottom

If I flashed my Sprint Touch with this rom and for some reason wanted to go back to the Stock rom, is this a possibility?

JD, what kitchen did you use to get this ball rolling. I'm thinking of working off your ROM and stripping some stuff out for the stream-liner bunch. You did a great job, I just want to tear some stuff out.

Just to ket you guys know I am working on a better custom .... I found that the bell rom is much cleaner and easier to work with .... it has less carrier customs in it .....

First thanks for all the hard work it looks like you have been doing. I don't know much other than how to make phone calls, and send text with my new touch. I have downloaded your new rom to my laptop. Never could get it to go on phone internet. What do I have to do to get it to work on my phone now. I gotta get this done before my son figures out he can change his so I can make him mad LOL. Thanks again for all the work.

Nice... lol ... Did you hard reset ..... if that doesn't work I saw that on some phone the pieplus cab does not work uninstall pieplus .... working on a fix now for that

could you cook me up the same ROM with out the sms so i could just use pcm

I also would like to just use PocketCM for sms. Is there any fix to get it to stop crashing without having to re flash?

Actually, no rush here, the workarounds were easy enough. Although would like to see what else you might cook up.

Overall i really like this rom. Keep up the good work.my sms just have freezes up sometime but i found out that if u keep the message box to under 10 message it doesnt freeze. soafter i recieve 10 messages i just delete the inbox and start over again

I dont mean to sound like a noob but where can I get the ROM update utility in order to flash the rom to my touch?

The unlocker isn't the same as the utility thats used for the actual flashing, right? Atleast thats how it was for my Mogul..

the unlocker well it unlocks the phone. then you can flash roms. they come with the rom installer

I used the unlocker by cokeman. How can I tell if the phone has been unlocked. What do I look for. The one thing I noticed is that the blue light no longer flashes.

You bootloader should say .40.Coke. (Tri-Color Screen when flashing, right at the top).

If it doesn't say that, its not unlocked.

Why does cokeman's unlocker have a "relocking" process? Am I supposed to just close the application and then flash a custom rom at that point? I dont see the purpose of that and also its very confusing.

This is so that you can go back to the way the phone was before you unlocked it. This ONLY affects the bootloader, not the rom itself. So to be 100% stock, you will have to flash an OEM ROM, then "relock" the bootloader (assuming that the OEM ROM doesn't do this on its own).
