BOOYAH!!! Welcome to the expanding club!! I was SO PUMPED when I got the green light on a brand new in-box TP2... Verizon didn't even try to sneak in a refurb model; they upgraded me 100% free and FedEx'd it to me immediately. Enjoy!

Are you planning on flashing to a custom ROM? MightyROM has been a great experience for me so far, I had to do a hard-reset today for some reason, and yesterday the phone locked up and I had to take off the case and then remove the battery and re-start... but the interface and speed overall is awesome!

Re: VZW replacing TP1 with TP2!

i signed up with verizon in aug. of this year.. originally got a htc ozone which i returned for poor signal quality. i then got an htc touch pro again same problem. i had called verizon, they sent out a field tech to test the signal. they said they saw some problems in the area etc, etc.. keep in mind i have been using my old motorola q prior on my verizon corp account just fine. they say there is nothing they can do, they wont exchange the found to poor signal quality as the area has been deemed a bad one yet other phones work phone and the area is fine!!

any thoughts on what to do?

I would email them daily, usually you will get different support reps since they have so many employees globally; since every personality differs, basically some people will relate with your plight and simple give in and FedEx you a phone, while others refuse to use any real judgment or empathy and disregard your concerns.

Re: VZW replacing TP1 with TP2!

Am I the only person who doesn't have a single problem out of his TP1? I almost wish it'd screw up so I could have a shot at a TP2. I really like the TP though, it's treated me well and runs very good. The main reason I'd even want a TP2 is for the extra ram.

most people are going to laugh at me because i shot the tp2 down. but it is what the touch pro should have been! if you don't have a problem with yours, try making a phone call for 20 mins or more and then try to charge your phone...

Mine was almost flawless for an entire year... aside from the normal WinMo every-other-day (EOD) soft resets
