my understanding is that assurion works with a totally different inventory warehouse BUT sprint works with their own inventory warehouse, completely different companies :dontknow:...it won't hurt to try. report back if positive outcome

I have an Alltel HTC Touch Pro and they are trying to offer me the Verizon BS watered down HTC Touch Pro...Not going to fly, I need to call when I get home.

yeah i think yall should try it..i just called like i didnt know anything bout them being out of stock just do ur normal phone claim and they will tell you that they dont have it in stock .than they will offer you the treo or palm they just say no u paid $299 for ur pro and u want a pro or something comparable..maybe a touch pro 2...

I just tried to do this with my phone, there was like a 15min wait time, guesign there verloaded with all these calls. Anyways, I only got as far as telling them my address and was told Id be transfered to someone to finish... then the automated system just kept telling me I would be called back or something about an affidavit. Whats going on?

i cant imagine how much pple are calling assurion ra now..they must be surprised everybody calling bout a touch pro when they are out of stock and asking for a touch pro 2...tanx ppcgeeks w out u we wouldnt be aware of this....hahahahahahhaha guys this is the chance to upgrade w just $100 w out renewing ur contract....lol

it took me 4 calls, after laying down the law and saying anything else was unacceptable and that i want to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor came on the phone, took my shipping address, and said as a 1 time offer they will offer me the htc touch pro 2, i gave her my cc info for the $100 deductible and she said it will be here in 1-2 bus days......FINALLY......i am proof there is hope, i called 3 times and was shot down, 4 time, ask for supe, and it was done. thanks for the help guys, cause when i called this time i did say that i tried to do it online and that if offered an unnaceptable replacement and that i did not want to pay $100 to downgrade my phone, i did mention that there policy stated comparable or better phone for those that are still trying. i was gonna get the hero, but for $100 tp2 cant be too bad. i might just flip it and get the hero anyways, lol. and i guess im going to have to take my phone for a swim.

Just Got mine ordered! Offered me a Treo (Nice phone, not what i wanted) I said no transfered me to a supervisor. Told super I wanted the the Pro 2. Will be here 1-2 days.

Did they offer the tp2 and magically you were transfer to the automated system...what that sucks dude. call back if they still are open for business otherwise call back as soon as they are open tomorrow morning.

they are definitely getting bombarded with calls, I think the assurion tp2 inventory is about to get seriously depleted too, wow. those lucky to get it , got it \\:D/ until they get more tp2 or tp1 back...you snooze you lose, or my other favorite saying the early bird gets the worm beootch.

Thanks OP. I just did a claim over the phone after trying online. Online offered the Treo Pro, so I cancelled my claim. When I called, the rep saw that I started a claim, and said he will finish the claim for me. He said that they were out of Touch Pro, and offered me the Treo Pro. I told him I need a slide out keyboard and a touch screen, and he offered the Touch Pro 2 w/o needing to speak with a supervisor.

I should have a NIB TP2 soon. The $100 is worth it for me rather than spending hours going to the ASC, calling, threatining retention, etc. My time is worth more than $100 to me. I already spent too much time trying to get a refurb replacement TP2 for my crappy TP (4th in 7 months).

Time to flash and relock the phone.

i was here searching for new roms for my touch pro. just got off the phone with ASSurion and i am getting a brand new touch pro 2.

Step 1: call them
Step 2: tell them you speakerphone doesnt work/ handset speaker (while held up to your ear)
Step 3: they will tell you they will send you a treo 850.
step 4: My fingers are fat, that phone does not and will not work for me.
Step 5: wait 5 min on hold.
Step 6: hello thiS, we are proud to announce were sending you a brand new touch pro 2.
Step 7: let everyone know how awesome PPC geeks is and to thanks everyone!

step 8: wait for it to come.... damn. but thursday it will be here! YAY!!!!

I just got off the phone with Asurion and will have my TP2 on Thursday. my phone has a stupid watermark in the middle of the screen and after yelling at everyone at F***ing to get it fixed finally got some satisfaction specially since i just got the TP 6 months ago.

Just called, said the last woman I spoke with offered me the tp2 but we got disconnected. No if's and's or but's he said alright sir I'll be happy to help you with that. Tp2 should be here Thursday, I was nervous he was saying tp2 but ordering tp1 but he definitely said tp2 several times, and sent me an email confirmation! WOOHOOO after all the headaches with the stores this was worth the 100 bucks

Yes. $100. New TP2 here Thursday. I spilled alcohol on my phone and there was actual LD so it was a good time to call. Don't try to pour another shot while drunk with your phone right next to it.

Well i just called...was very polite to the lady. She was nice, offered the Treo Pro, i denied it and asked a few time if she could check for TP2 availability. she comes back on the line with in a min and says she got an override...TP2 at my door step on thursday. Now, I had to pay the 100 deductable (applied to my sprint bill). can i email e-care and have them credit my account because their store couldnt repair my phone?? Or am i asking for too much here?

:cussing: Yeah I think that they closed for the day, that's why she did that to me, she wanted to get off early... :neutral: It keeps telling me I need some additional documentation or approval. Then when I push 2 to talk to someone they tell me there closed for the day...

EDIT: Seems like I was randomly selected for a affidavit and photo ID thing... this is just my day, by the time they get my mail they will have TP's in stock again. :cry:

My TP2 is on the way I just called and was honest with them about my phone problem (dropped it and keyboard quit). They offered me treo 850 when I turned that down they offered me blackberry and a htc snap. I had already asked about the slide out keyboard on the 850 so I again said I have to have the slide out keyboard could I get a touch pro 2. She said no we can only offer the phones I have told you. I simply and politely said I could not live without slide out keyboard and she had me hold. She came back in less than 2 minutes and said she could offer me the touch pro 2. It will ship tomorrow. I almost called yesterday to replace my pro glad I procrastinate. :)

dude dont trip call early on tha morning tell them u need a phone cuz u need it for work.ur a contractor or sumthing so u cant wait for the mail to be received by them u loose moneyy on ur business so u believe sprint is a reliable provider..blah blah by the way call from a different phone cuz yours dont even turn on..or sumthing

hmm, since asurion is out of TP, I wonder if you can do an advance exchange over the phone and get it repalced with the PS2 w/o having to pay the deductable...

Newb here and thanks to this thread i'll be getting a TP2...kept insisting on the slide out keyboard and he said well I can offer the TP2 and I acted like I never heard of it before...He basically just told me its will be like an upgrade for you...so I said OK...should I stop using my current on cuz i did kinda tell him I mis-placed my TP...

dun worry guys, they are a bit slow on the emails, took them half a day to send me mine with the tracking number for fedex, you can't check the status on their website either.

yeah you should. they can log into the sprint system and see the last time your phone register in the sprint towers. basically the can tell if you used it after you made the claim. which is not cool and could land you in fraud court or something lol not worth it over a phone...I would take off battery now, they will blacklist the esn so the is not usable with Sprint anymore.

asurion is there for real lost, water damage, physical damage, and theft but if you report a theft claim you need a police report to back what you are saying.

yes u should just to be on the safe side they can twll when u r still using ur phone..once made a claim they asked me when was the last time i used it said yesterday but forgot that i had used it in the morning the representative was nice and told me that i had used it .so i wasnt being honest but he still gave me the replacement...lol

Yeah that's cool I told the dude i mis-placed it and haven't been able to find it...he said that was fine if it turns up just to send it in...I told him I was gonna leave it active to see if it would turn up...he did tell me that once the transaction was finalized that he couldn't refund the money...like he told me if i found it to send it in...i do have a touch that i'll just transfer to for now..

Good Evening everyone. I just call Asurion and yes I am receiving my TP2 by Thursday! This is how you do it. When you call explain to the that your first three row of key board does not work and your phone over heats so much that you could fried a egg ( Yes it true ). They going to offer BB Tour, HTC Snap, BB Curve. Make your self useless and explain to them that those phone does not compare to the TP only the TP2
