Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
ordered mine last night after 5-7 times. they offered me the diamond, treo pro, bb curve, the htc snap and another tp. i told them they all were downgrades and that it was my 3rd replacement and that the tp2 was the only comparable phone. then they said it was out of stock and that before they order the tp2 for me that they would order the tp and i said no i dont want to pay another $100 dollars for another problem. so they settled for the tp2. don't settle for less.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
If anyone is calling this morning please report back on what they are saying about in/out of stock.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
After getting fed up with stupid Sprint, I decided to see if I could work around them and just use Asurion.
I was instructed to call back from a different phone, and when I did, I got the message telling me to fax in the affidavit and my ID. So I figured fantastic. It's going to be another 2-3 days. I got a call last night from them saying they received my info, and everything was gravy. They transferred me to someone, who offered me BB Curve. I said no way. They had me hold for a minute, and came back on the line and told me they would ship me a TP2 in 5-7 days. I gave the guy a good survey review :) He was very pleasant and easy to deal with. Sprint is at strike 2 in my book. One more rude CSR, and I will be switching carriers. |

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
my current TP1 was brand new from Asurion in Feb, if I call to report the issues I've been having, will they send a TP2 as a replacement?
|
Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
I just got off the phone with them. I sent my fax about 44 hours ago but they still haven't processed it. Did anyone else who sent the fax on Wednesday get a call back? I am getting frustrated with this affidavit stuff.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
....and the TP1 is still under warranty.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
I ordered mine on the 22nd and it will be here on the 26th, Monday. I got a new car today and I'm getting a new TP2 Monday! Definitely one of the greatest two weeks ever!
Btw, all I did was tell Asurion my phone was broken and the claim thing said the Treo Pro and that that was totally unacceptable. They transfered me to a resolution representative and she offered Treo Pro and BB Tour. I said absolutely not, that's unacceptable. She then offered me the TP2 and said it would take 3- 5 business days because they weren't in stock. Thanks everyone on these forums for being so entertaining and helpful, I appreciate. Now, I'm off to the TP2 forums. |

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
It works. Have a manager check the inventory for the TP2. I ordered mine today and will receive it Monday.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Here is my story, I think it is worth the read.
So on Monday I was using Google maps as normal when I was driving. My screen started acting up. It was showing the info on the wrong side of the screen. The top part would be on the bottom, the bottom on the top. The left on the right, the right on the left. Basically it looks like a jigsaw puzzle and would go back and forth. I looked around on ppcgeeks for a solution and could not find anyone with a similar problem. Most users thought it was hardware issue. (I tried stock os). When searching a saw this threaded called…. TP1 for TP2. Read it, and said woaah, cooooool. I don’t have TEP but the phone is under manufactures warranty. I bought it one eBay in May. After reading almost all the posts regarding the exchange, I wasn’t sure that if I would be able to get the tp2 (so many users tried, and were able to get it, but others were not able to choose the tp2 and replacement, others could not get it because it was out of stock, and so on). Yesterday, I decided to give it a shot. I went to the only sprint store in a 50 miles radius here, and said my phone is glitching up with the screen. They checked, yes still under warranty, so repair won’t cost anything, but it will take over an hour. I say okay and leave. I come back 2 hours later , thinking to myself, okay if they think they phone is defective, they will prob try to order me another tp1, but ill ask for another phone, then they will prob offer a snap, or bb, and I would have to say those phones don’t match to my old phone…yada yada. I walk in and ask on the statues on my repair, the guy takes my eticket goes to the back, comes out seconds later and states “ you’re in the we are going to order you a new replacement phone- touch pro 2”……………..(at this point my mouth dropped(in my head))…..”Where do you want it shipped to your home or here?” I say home, he gives me my old phone, says it will be a couple of days and to make sure I sent the old one back. And that’s it!!! I then left. I was sooooo surprised how little effort I had to put into getting this new phone. I thought I would have to arguing my way through, but it was just handed to me. Boy was I happy when I walked out. Thank God, is all I have to say. So ya, that’s pretty much it, waiting on my new phone now. Ps I the sprint store is in West Springfield, MA. |

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
What issues are you guys reporting if you're past the 1 year warranty but have TEP to get the TP2? Also is everyone paying the deductible in this case (past warranty)?

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
i cant win. i called twice and told them keyboard screen issues. they said since sprint replaced it last time they will have to do it again. i did it online thru advanced exchange

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
I called last night 630pm CST and was on the phone for about 25 minutes. Reported to them everything that had been going on with my phone ( Battery overheating while charging and downloading, and the keyboard issue). They seemed to only care about the keyboard issue. I was transferred 3 times without asking and ended up with a supervisor. Each person asked if I was hurt or anything was ruined by the overheating battery. In the end the supervisor offered me every single phone expect the TP2. I told him I needed the large keyboard and WinMo. Then he said the HTC Snap has all that and I replied I'm looking at the Sprint website and it doesn't look like it. After about 5 minutes of asking him about phone he finally said "Well, we do have another but it's on back order." I asked him what phone and how long. 2-3 Days is what I was told. So, I should have my TP2 in 2-3 and will report back.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
I just called Asurion and told them my phone was heating up and the keyboard was not consistently responsive and she steered me to reach out to the local Repair Center. Should I call back later this afternoon and say that the repair center told me to reach back to Asurion?

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
One key thing you should mention when you call is this....
Tell them you have been having a keyboard issue. Also that you have taken the phone to the store but when they were going to replace it the replacement's keyboard was also having the same issue. Tell them the store rep told you that the keyboard is a known issue with the TP. This helped me out alot. Then continue on with the wanting a full slide out keyboard to prevent fat fingering. WinMo of course and touch screen. The only phone out that can match that is the TP2. Try not to bring up the TP2 yourself unless they just flat will not. Play stupid and have patience. |
Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
no go. i tried that. i wanted a slide out keyboard, touch screen, winmo, they said no prob touch pro will be back in stock.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Just got off of the phone and I've got a TP2 on the way!
It took 2 tries for me. I called once and got a very nice rep. She told me that they were having a lot of problems with the TP1 lately and they were replacing it with another phone. I said great. She told me that they could offer me a Tour or a Treo Pro. I said I can't use a BB on my plan and I had a Treo before (I did) and the buttons are too small. She said we could do the snap but that's a downgrade (she said it!). Finally I asked about the TP2 and she told me that unfortunately they don't have refurbs for replacement yet because it's such a new phone. We were having a bad connection the entire time so I told her I'll go to the website and see what other phones are available and call back. I called back about 10 minutes later and told the new rep that I just spoke with a rep and they offered me a Tour and a Treo and they wouldn't work and that she told me that they were having problems with the TP1 so I wanted to know what's compareable. She asked to put me on hold for a few minutes and I said fine.... I knew what was coming at this point! She came back in about 30 seconds and told me that as a one time courtesy they could send me a BNIB TP2, is that okay? I don't really think I need to go any further. Oh, and Sprint is crediting my account for the deductable so I'm not paying anything! I emailed them about the problems with my TP and told them that I've had it replaced again and again and they told me to call Asurion and they would credit my account for the deductable. They know the TP1 has a lot of problems. Anyone having trouble getting a TP2 should just be patient and be nice and they will help you out. See you in the TP2 forums! |
