I received a New in the Box unit with all the accessories and manuals. I had my phone swapped at the nearest Corporate Store.

It turns out my drive to the Sprint store was worth it. I go into the store and explain the problems I was having with my touch pro and after a minute or two of this guy doing something on his touch pro 2 he tells me there is a list of replacement options including the htc snap touch pro 2 and some other crappy phones (his actual words) then says he recommends the touch pro 2. Turns out he had a touch pro and told me he had the same problems with his that I had with mine.

So after being surprised I was being offered a touch pro 2 within minutes of walking in and no one even looking at my phone he goes to place the order. Then he tells me it is out of stock. A minute later he says there is a different way he can order it and another employee says to him "you can do it that way but you will get yelled at" (at that point I am not sure what they were talking about). Anyways he goes and talks to the manager for a minute and comes out and says I will have a brand new touch pro 2 on Monday or Tuesday at the latest and they will call me when they get it.

In all of this excitement I forgot to ask for printed confirmation of the order. I hope they actually call me back like they said. It just seems like this was too easy.:scratch:

Just an update:

Got a NIB TP2 today from the store. They had ordered it on 24th for the other people in their waiting list. All of us got the New in the box TP2. They still do not have the refurbished TP2s in the stock. They couldn't keep the customers on waiting list for long. so they ordered the new ones.

I am happy, see you all at the TP2 forums.

I did. Just an update. I posted a few pages back that I went into a Sprint repair center to get my TP repaired/replaced again, third time in a month. All legitimate issues, dead keyboard or screen all times. The lady working in the store said she wanted to get me a different kind of phone so I don't have to keep coming back with problems, but said she wasn't authorized to make that change in store. She advised I call customer service from the store, explain the issue, and see if they will authorize a different device. They did, and even suggested getting the TP2...I agreed.

It arrived today, a refurbished TP2, stylus, and battery - nothing else. I incorrectly thought that it needed a sim card to be activated on Sprint's network, so I called tech support. They are sending me a sim card, but also advised that the sim is not needed on Sprint's network. I found the manual on Sprint's site in case I need it. Refurbished or new, doesn't really matter to me. I figure if I would have gotten another TP it would have been refurbished and odds are at some point I will have to have this one exchanged for another refurbished one. And its better than the luck (or lack of) a few people are having on here. So far this thing rocks.

Good luck- I just got my TP replaced with another TP but the guy was very nice and gave me one they were holding but the customer had not picked it up yet.

The build of this one actaully seems pretty solid.

yea i had been dealing with sprint for a couple months now from my gps not working to phone freezing or powercycling on its own. finally on Wednesday i dropped my phone and the screen turned black with a white line going up and down. then i turned off then turned on and my screen was completely black.. the backlight turns on but still black.. i had to wait till today (saturday) to go to sprint store. tech told me they didnt have replacement phones or parts for tp so he going to order me a different phone because he saw this is going to be my 5th replacement he said a tp2 so i was like YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (inside) but outside i was like o man for real.. is it the same as mine. he said yea im like ok cool.. i just dont want this to keep happening.. and i walked out with no confirmation. i hope he was BS me. ima call sprint in a while and ask.. atleast i can use my keyboard to dial..

Congrats to you guys.. I tried asurion and they only wanted to offer me a Treo pro stating that it is the most comparable to the touch pro. I asked about the touch pro 2 and they wouldn't bunch. I tried sprint tech support and they didn't want to budge either.

well i called sprint to make sure the tech placed an order.. seeing as he didnt give me a confirmation. the csr called store and told me that yes they placed the order. ..

he was like just to let you know we are back ordered on touch pro. they keep on placing order until it goes through. i was like so ima be with out a phone longer (then it clicked he said TOUCH PRO) im like wait touch pro? no.. rep said he's ordering me a TP2.. csr said, to let you know i delt with issue twice earlier the replacement for touch pro is HTC dash or blackberry curve.. i was like you being funny right? dash? curve? their not even touch screen phones. i paid full price for my phone. and you wanna downgrade me.. yea right..

he said tp2 is up to the store.. but im just letting you know.. im like what did they order me.. he said i dont know i can only tell if they placed order.. but not what they ordered...

No offense, but you should be happy that Sprint is willing to replace this with anything at all. Normally you would be going through Asurion and paying the $100.

everyone drops their phone. asurion is for water damage, lost/stolen or intentional damage like bringing the phone back in two pieces or cracking the screen.

i ment finally as it was the last straw... like thats what it took for them to finally start giving a dam about my phone. because they sure didnt give a skittle the past couple of weeks. when i kept calling in and showinf up at store about my freezing issue and gps problems.

i was about just drop them all together.

Social experiment successful. After a couple trips to the store down the street, just asking "Will you upgrade me to a TP2?" worked. Phone's coming tuesday, got the confirmation from sprint as well. By d-pad and flash.

Got my TP2 ordered today, should be at the store waiting for me either Tuesday or Wednesday. Not sure if it is a NIB or a refurb, but after waiting for over a month I really don't care (wouldn't care if I waited longer either since it is basically is an upgrade).

well i just got my phone replaced and got another tp refurbished again..guess ill just wait til this one acts up and just go with another carrier since im not on contract..glad to hear you guys were able to get something out of sprint.

JUST GOT THE WIFE'S TP REPLACED WITH TP2 FROM ASURION WITH NO HASSLES.ON TOP OF THAT MY REBATE HAS BEEN APPROVED TOO AFTR ONLY PURCHASING MY TP2 FOR $199.99.AND I SOLD MY TP FOR $180.sweeeeeet

My touch pro has pretty much the same issues as everyone else it looks like. I was told my warranty is no longer valid. Weird. Does my visit to the store get entered into my file and does the "invalid warranty" show up somewhere on my account that I can verify it for myself. I don't want to look stupid going to another store trying to get a replacement for my malfunctioning phone.
If my warranty is not good anymore then my next avenue would be to file a claim with Asurion for a replacement due to my phone being cracked as well as the other issues. Not sure what phone I'll get as a replacement if I do file a claim (it better be a TP or even better a TP2). Does anyone know if the replacement phones will have a warranty on them?

Where did you get a tp2 phone for $199.99? That's a great deal! :)

I just got off the phone with Asurion, they were going to give me a Referb TP for $100.00 I said HELL NO!! I guess is back to waiting till they give me a NIB TP1 or a TP2

When I first heard about this I couldn’t believe it. So I tried it myself.

I spoke to Tech Support the guy seemed to know what he was talking about, listed phones that I could select for my replacement including the TP2 but he had to transfer me to Advanced Exchange. When I spoke to AE they listed phones other than the TP2. Well I gave up for a few days, tried again, and repeated the process.

Eventually this one time I was on hold for I would say over an hour, I was actually in the drive thru of Checkers when I was able to talk to this nice lady. She was a supervisor and told me that the TP2 was unavailable at the moment but that it may become available later. She gave me her personal cell # and told me to call her back in 2 weeks to check to see if it could be replaced for a TP2. In the back of my mind I was thinking, A way for her to get rid of me? No way this number is hers!

About 2 1/2 weeks pass and I decide to give her a call. Got her personalized voicemail and was surprised to see it was legit. Around 24hrs later, about 6pm when I was at a friend’s house she gives me a call back from a Sprint #. "..Let me check if I could place the order for your TP2.. there were some avaible this morning.." put me on hold for a few, came back with an order # ( I think it was 6 or 7 digits ) Well basically she said I should receive the phone by Monday.

So now I am waiting to see if I actually receive a package on Monday/ Tuesday and if it’s actually a TP2. :) Wish me luck. :)

I don't understand. If you have insurance you must have the $7 TEP, no? If that's the case, while the HTC Mfg warranty may be expired, Sprint is still supposed to fix anything wrong with the phone other than physical damage. That's what you pay for. The TEP is not a warranty, but insurance. Go to the corp store and ask for a TEP brochure, then hand it to the rep and say "fix my phone"...lol

Good for you, but whatever you do please don't give anyone else that number, including me :) The CSR was nice enough to help you out and shouldn't be rewarded by a ton of calls from others. I'm sure there'll be some that will disagree with me, but I don't think we want to discourage the CSRs who are actually happy to help.

I do have the $7 TEP. Guess it doesn't matter to the ppl at the store. I did call *2 and talked to a really nice customer care guy. After telling him what was wrong with my phone (I also have a crack in the chrome which I didn't mention cuz there r like 14 issues with my phone that I think override the crack issue) he said since I was a long standing customer I should get a new phone. He didn't even want me to talk to tech support. He gets me on the phone with a account rep and she says they can't just give me a tp2 unless I pay to upgrade, but will send out a comparable phone. I told her a tp would work but I'll probably have issues with it too. I believe a tp is being mailed to me. It is so aggravating to have so many issues with a cell phone whether it cost a lot of money or not.

Will this phone have a warranty if I have the same issues again?

Your warranty does not start over, unlike if you have your Wii fixed under warranty. Nintendo will start it over. So once your 12 mos is up, no more warranty.

everyone that ordered a phone might wanna call sprint or check back at store because they just bsed me... they said tp2 is back ordered and tried to offer treo pro or curve again im like no i guess ima have to deal with my black screen because im not downgrading..

this was a day after they promised me a tp2. i knew i should have got some kind of confirmation... now i cant even get a regular tp.... wtf.....
