ah, that i do not know... i know like your contacts is pim file, thats about it... never needed to know txt... someone wil tel u im sure
i dont save alot of txts... if i really need a convo i had with someone i just print it via PictBridge and theres my record |

If I remember right, pimbackup does work, BUT, you have to UNcheck the compress option before you make your backup. If I remamber right you can open it in notepad.
It would be easiest if you only backed up your texts at this time to...

Use PIMbackup without compression/encryption and send the backup to your computer. Change the extension of the file from ".pib" to ".zip". Open the zip file with your favorite zip program (I suggest WinRAR) and find the file named "msgs_XXXXXXXX.csm" with the X's being the date of the backup in YYYYMMDD format. Open the file and it will contain your texts. The texts are a bit garbled, but you can get what you need from them.
Edit: If I had VB or VC# on this computer, I'd write up a quick program that could extract all the messages to make them easier to read. Last edited by daqq; 08-24-2009 at 08:27 AM. |
