I always heard if electronics gets wet, just keep it off, let it dry, and it will be ok. I had past expierience with my old phone being off ahead of time and it was fine but this time it was on before hand. Second, I have it unlocked and r3born flashed on it. do you think they will ask for it back or should i just say i lost it if I need a new one. or do you think the water wiped out the drive in it so they wouldnt even be able to tell. ONe last thing? Since I have insurance on it, If I get a new one can I change the one that I want or do I have to get the same one. I would like to try a diff one. Sorry guys but it was either write this or my daughter would still be getting thrown around. Thank you for your help
This is for anyone who gets their junk wet. :-p

1. Turn off immediately and remove battery.
2. Disassemble as much as you can
3. Place all contents into a sealable container with about 2-3 cups of uncooked rice.
4. Seal containiner and pray for 2 days.
5. Open up container, replace battery, reassemble device, turn it on and find out if there is a god.

Re: In Trouble!!!....help

i second that. But it took 2 weeks of praying for mine....thats when i switched to ppc. I attributed the damaged stuff to the water, but it may have been the blowdryer as well.

Re: In Trouble!!!....help

no offense to anyone but the rice will only remove the moisture it comes i contact with. those of you that think that is will magically remove all the moisture need to think again. if rice did as you think then you wouldnt need to boil it in water to "cook" it. you could leave it out on your counter an a humid day and have ready to eat rice when you get home. does that make sense to everyone? best option is to remove the back cover and battery and place the phone in front of a fan so air can circulate around the phone and evaporate the water out of it. do not use anything that created heat such as a hair dryer UNLESS is has a "cold" setting.

as for the OP i fear that your phone is done for because A. it was on when the water got inside it and B. you tried to power it on even after it was wet without letting it dry out first.

it shouldnt be done, it will go crazy when it first happens, but make sure you put it in rice, after its been about 24 hours, place it by a fan to be safe. Honestly ive saved my sisters and parents phone over 10 times with the rice trick. My dad always go swimming with his phone...

Re: In Trouble!!!....help

Have you tried placing it on rice for about a week? It does work and the rice acts as a dessicant.

As for getting it replaced, just say you lost it, and claim for a new (ahem, refurbished) one.

Re: In Trouble!!!....help

ok, you guys need to calm down. i can guarantee that the physical abuse i went through as a child is far worse than anything you could even imagine, and i still find the sarcasm funny. so calm the hell down. if you have a real problem, pm him. not many people here want to watch somebody go down the road of misunderstood sarcasm.
