Right on........very fine post!!!!

MightyROM5 which as mentioned is still in Beta is a amazing ROM. But if you wasn to see some of the real differances custom ROMs make, try Juicy7 which has the new TF3D2, Mikes 4.16 is a clean, fast and stable ROM. I can promise that in the long run you will see bigger differances. Usually in stability(not soft resetting) Battery life(Phone actually has one). One of the big factors is the builds of the software are the latest and the newest. While the stock ROM hasnt been updated.

Re: Point of custom rom?

my top reasons:
1. no carrier junk (sprint store, crappy logos, demo versions)
2. cool looks (you can always impress people on stock ROM)
3. updated versions of software (opera/camera/albums)
4. human desire to explore new thing!

I suggest you read as much as you can on MR5 thread. No one can re-create all the information or answer all your questions on 1 post. But I would have suggested as your first ROM ever. Maybe MightyROM 4.16. Its by far the best ROM from Mike.. ANd its still wm6.1, which you are already very familiar with , I am sure...

By the way, the benefits to a Costum ROM are just incredible. With Mikes work and a bit from your part. You will be enjoying a completely different phone.

so do you mean that 4.16 is better than the new R3born ROM from mike

Hacking gadgets is sort of a hobby for me been doing it for many years. And what I normally think of as a hack is something that unlocks a bunch of new features and such. I think that was why I was a bit confused when It came to phone hacking. With these devices its not really about new features. It all seems to be about performance.

Every app I have seen even in the most loaded roms are things you can run on a stock TP. just makes it a bit faster.

Anyway just an update on my rom issue. Since I made this post I tried just about every popular 6.5 rom and there were some thing I liked and did not like about each. In the end I have decided to go back to 6.1 (will prob go with mighty's reborn rom just because it's the newest). I use my phone mostly for multimedia for my music/movies/internet and I use a ton of programs to get everything working.

The MAIN issue I'm having with 6.5 is after an hour or so of use I lose sound to my phone and have to reboot. That's something I just cant deal with and from what I have read it seems to be a problem with all 6.5 builds.
