or flash it to another rom like mighty rom that has great battery life, because all of the tweaking inside of it.

but if you want to keep it simple buy an extended battery from seido or mugen from ebay a lil costly but totally worth it, i get two full days on a single charger and heavy use.... hope it help

update: what i heard too, that TF3D also hurt the battery cuz it use a lot of processor speed. (somebody correct me if i'm wrong)
You are not right, My TP battery will last about 12 hours. I use the backlight sensor so that the screen auto adjust for light conditions. I also use nuecpl-clockspeed to step down cpu usage if I am Not using it much.
I also use new power and Advanced Configuration. I am always on my Phone. I watch Tv on it and Hulu on Skyfire browser. I play games and MY BATTERY LAST ABOUT 12 HOURS. Also I let it die all the way until it turns off and then recharge it off at night. You could also try turning off activesync, there is post about that in here somewhere.

Kinda sucks you have to do tweaks to get the battery to last longer. I still love the phone though.

Re: Maximize battery life...

TP2 gets better battery life due to bigger battery.

I think its too early to judge. There's only GSM versions of TP2 and generally GSM versions have better battery life than CDMA. And also, this one has a larger screen so LCD will use more power. But again too early to tell without a CDMA version out yet.

Re: Maximize battery life...

Pocketnow.com has a review on the GSM Touch Pro 2 and they're saying the battery life still sucks. Also interesting to note that the battery performance on the Diamond 2 beat out the Touch Pro 2's by far.

Interesting review. Battery life is a concern in the write-up, but I think we've come to expect that, considering the demands and uses of high-end smartphones. Sounds like the reviewer really thought it was great, overall.

Re: Maximize battery life...

Oh, most definitely. The Touch Pro 2 is a sick device. Just disappointed that that the battery issue hasn't been improved. I love my Touch Pro but still trying to find ways to increase my battery life beyond 8 hrs. Still looking for that magic hack/tweet...

Re: Maximize battery life...

Battery life is only an issue if using 3G/EVDO/Rev-A, I've had mine set for 1x and I get through the entire workday all the way to dinner (~12 hours) and I still have 70-80% left. This is how Blackberries do it (except they're smarter...they use 1x for everything ecept when theres a file attachment or heavy data usage). I haven't charged in 5 days, just now hit the 20% mark.
