Radio Update?

my radio is 1.03.03V you said b4 you flash to a new radio you need to unlock does that mean I can use any phone service, I have the Verizon TP and want to keep verizon so does it matter what radio I download or can you only use certain ones with certain carriers.

The reason to unlock it, is so you can flash to a different radio or to a custom rom.
You can use anyone one in the radio thread here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616. It will not affect your phone service. You will stay with verizon. The only thing you might notice is a difference in signal strength or data speeds or how hot the phone gets.

If you unlock the phone and flash a new radio - do you need to reflash the original and re-lock if you need to bring the phone into Sprint? Is the radio update what the Sprint store will do if you bring it in?

yes, to your first question. It only takes about a minute to flash to a new radio, so it's easy to change them. There's 7 to choose from so just try them out and see which one works best for you.
They will not do anything like that if you bring them your phone.

I have alltel service with a touch pro phone and my radio is 1.03.16F.

The phone is stock except for the basic reg edits

I live in Tampa florid area, which radio should i go with and why that radio upgrade
and how do i unlock or lock my phone

i was told that you need to try each radio and see what works best for you in your area. there are only 7 different radios and it only takes less than 3min to flash each one. try a different one each day for a week and see what works best.

OK, so my phone is unlocked. I can get to bootloader screen. So do I just need to download the Sprint 1.11 from the link earlier in this thread and unzip that file to my desktop and run the ROMUpdateUtility in that folder i just downloaded?

i have the same question...my phone is already unlocked and i just downloaded the telus 1.04 file....how do i flash it onto my phone

Scroll up to razorloves post.. click the link he posted.. on the 1st or 2nd page there is step by step for flashing a new radio.
