Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I spent 3 weeks trying to get the so called "OPEN" network to accept one of my 3 Qwest HTC 6800s 2 of which were just active 2 days before I switched handsets.
I've been with VZW since Qwest dumped me in their lap.
With 2 6800's and 3 more clamshell's, all 5 lines active for more than a year.
And then the data plan.
2 level 3 tech's and 3 weeks of "7 to 10 days",
I finally raised enough stink to get a bleeding heart discount.

Long story short, $55.00 later and I now own my second BNIB XV6800.
Now the TP is selling for $99.oo (with 2yr.).

I might hold out till the TP2. The TP seems so flimsy, at least the one that I held at the store was.
I would get them to sell you a TP for the $99.USD (if thats what you really want) for their refusal to be fair.
It might just work, they are the best team of customer service reps that I have seen in a long time.
I just don't care much for their refusal to let me use my Qwest 6800's as a backup.

Happy hunting...

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

OMG! So I got my TP working but I can't get the dang data to work!!!
I keep getting the Error 11 PPP Connection error message every time an app with data wants to run, VOICE and TXT works perfect! I followed the instructions to convert my device to verizon to the T and Im going over it over and over again... and I can't seem to see what is wrong...

What could be the problem?
This is what I got.
I got the PRL from the instructions, VZW rom (stock).

THANKS!!!

Ok so i am curious, how did it go with getting verizon to add the esn? did they give you a bunch of problems, anything in particular you said to them? im about to do this as i really need to get my tp working, and thats the only part im worried about. i want to call them asap, but like i said, im curious as to how to go about saying it to them. like to hear any words of advice you may be able to offer to me. I would be so grateful.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got verizon to add my sprint touch pro esn to their network. Call into customer service to activate it. The first person you talk to will say their system won't accept it. Ask them to add it. They will probably say its not possible. Ask them to transfer you to tech support so you can check. Once talking to tech support ask them to add the ESN number to their database. I know everyone says not too, but I told them that I have a sprint HTC touch pro that I flash with the verizon firmware that i want to use on their network. I told them when I dial 611 or *228 i get verizon. So tech create a ticket to have the ESN added to the network. It took about 72hours and I was able to activate it. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is getting evdo to work. The data works but only on 1x. I think its something with the security keys

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I got my ESN added to the verizon network and everything is working except for evdo. The data only works at 1x speeds. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to get evdo working on my phone?

I think I can help you out, hopefully you can help me out.

From http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20090:
Quote:
5) edit data settings to vzw dial ##778 and enter your new msl of 000000

MIP Profile
Number of profiles: 6
Active user profile index: 0
MIP_MODE: Mobile IP Prefered
MIP Reg Retries: 2
MIP Reg Retry: 1750 ms
MIP Pre-Reg Timeout: 0
Mobile Node-HA: Enable
Send A Reg: Disable
Dormant Handoff Opt: Enable

MIP Default Profile
Enable Profile: Enable
NAI: mynumber@vzw3g.com (MDN@vzw3g.com)
DUN NAI: (if entry is there enter MDN@vzw3g.com so you can tether without a tethering package or MDN@dun.vzw3g.com if you want paid tethering))
MN HA SPI Set: Enable
MN HA SPI Value: 12C
MN AAA SPI Set: Enable
MN AAA SPI Value: 0 (requires a "2" here for 6800 and 6900)
Reverse Tunneling: Enable
Home Address: 0.0.0.0
HA Shared Secret: (erase whatever entry is here leave blank)
AAA Shared Secret: (erase whatever entry is here leave blank)
Primary HA Address: 255.255.255.255
Secondary HA Address: 255.255.255.255
DMU Pub Key: 10
MN Authenticator: 0
The key is to make sure there is nothing in the HA Shared Secret & AAA Shared Secret. After that force your phone into 1X mode by going to Modem Settings in EPST and change the following settings (make note of what the original values are because you will be re-entering them later):

Preferred Mode: CDMA Only
HDR Hybrid Preferred: Disable
Rev. A: Disable

Once you've done all this, the phone will reboot in 1X mode. Go on the web and surf for a few minutes. Your HA & AAA Shared Secret Keys will be written. Revert your modem settings back to the original configuration and you should be in business with full EVDO.

Now, for you to help me. I have a blank banner where it should say Verizon Wireless and *228 option 1 cannot program my phone even though its activated and can make and receive calls and has full EVDO. Can you or anyone else help explain/fix this?

The blank banner is nothing but a display name that can be edited, but I wouldn't bother with this part. If *228 can't program your phone, then you somehow reset your MSL. Try using QPST. If you can get in with 000000 then I am not giving you the correct advice.
