Re: ICS questions??
John,
You are not the only one with this issue, there are more WMWifiRouter users that have this issue (though they don't seem to be posting in your thread... I hardly ever visit PPCGeeks myself - though I do hang in PPCGeeks IRC channel - so just coincidence I saw this, too). I think we have fixed this issue in the latest WMWifiRouter version (which is not public yet). It is indeed related to a registry entry that keeps resetting itself at soft-reset, though from the top of my head I do not recall which one it was. This fix should be in the soon-to-be-released 1.30 version, but this may take yet another week for release. In the meantime, if you want, send an email to support @ wmwifirouter.com and mention that "Chainfire sent you", or link to this topic, or something similar. I'll fish it out of the support queue and set you up with our 1.29 development version so you can see if that works for you.

Re: ICS questions??
By the way, I did send an email to support a few weeks ago.
I got an answer back about a week later that said "try installing this cab" & attached was a copy of ICSinstall.cab............... ~John |

Re: ICS questions??
i have been pming with jmorton i believe the culprit is the rilphone as i looked through my notes from when i first flashed 6.1 and had these problems that noone could fix the multi nai and issext and all those are great for hiding what you are doing but microsoft rewrote the ics stack for 6.1 completely changed the way it was implemented and throught the old hacks out the window but left those keys their maybe to throw off not sure i still do them for caustion but and a big but i believe the carriers had their own little mods as att sprint and verizon all used dif keys referring to how to track tethering i also am going to post a link to a dif ics program that from what i could tell is the most stable as i haven't had to ever soft reset i am not the most experienced and i could be wrong but i did get it working when i used verizon when i was on 6.1 and i believe i can reproduce it was a while ago but i trying i just hope 6.5 doesn't throw it all out the window lol ill cry

I got the new cab you sent me & so far it works super, thankyou so much. I can't say for sure it is 100% fixed, but I installed it & have soft reset my TP six times in a row & my ipod touch still connects to it just fine (it never survived even one reset before) You can't imagine how happy this makes me, I was ready to give up on this. I didn't know what else to try at this point & I have been fighting with it for weeks. I must have flashed to 20 different ROM's, reinstalled both WMrouter & ICS MANY MANY times etc etc etc etc ~John |

Re: ICS questions??
Glad to hear it works now
![]() As to what robby just said, there is no major difference between ICS in 6.0 and 6.1, just another chance for the carriers to hide ICS disabling stuff in their OEM files. We're not completely sure which component causes these registry keys to reset on soft-reset (it would require in-depth examination of all the affected ROMs and all their OEM files, which is quite an undertaking, and it will likely be different for different carriers) but it's not the first time people have seen it happen with various registry keys across various devices. Just be glad we got a work-around ![]() |
