Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Ok, so i might be completely stupid here..but it doesn't seem to work for me....

I have a cable for my camera....and it's 3.5 mm on one end and splits into a video RCA and a mono RCA

then i have the HTC TP connector, black little thumbdrive size type of thing, with a power adapter pluging, a headphone jack, 3.5mm jack and something smaller then that as well...

now it doesn't seem to be working and when i go to the stock TV OUT SETTINGS, it keeps giving me the error, you must have TV OUT cable, optional accessory is needed to output to an external display

any suggestions on what...do i have the right cable...or no

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

OK, so I'm doing something wrong here. I've got a cable that came with my video camera. 3.5 on one end with three black stripes (video and stereo audio) and Yellow, Red and White RCA on the other end. I plug the HTC headphone adapter in, plug it in to my TV, run the app that techfury wrote, select NTSC, select Pics and Videos, and choose a picture, but... nothing shows up on the screen. I tried plugging all 3 colors in as video, but no luck. I tried pulling the 3.5 out just a bit, but nothing. What am I doing wrong? I went to the registry entry and checked and the value is being changed as expected...

I'm guessing that specific video cable doesn't work in this setup. Have you tried hooking it up to a different TV [grasping at straws here, lol]

Makes me wonder if it is a hit or miss with cables. Not sure what could be really different though. Hopefully the one I bought from dealextreme works. If not oh wellz. Not to big of a loss.

Maybe Apple uses a different pin sequence than other standard 3.5 to A/V Cables.

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

I am using the one i bought a long time ago for my ipod and it works great. the video quality is so so but i used it on a 48" and 63" tv so maybe it is stretching the pixels to musch but the internet is pretty clear.

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

There's been a lot of questions about cables - maybe the diagram at this site can help: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi...le-pinouts.php
By the way, this hack worked great for me justing using the cable from my camcorder and switching yellow for red.
