If you make sure you get an ipod video compatible cable - it'll work. I got a retractible eforcity brand cable for $5. I also had an "ipod" cable I bought from a dollar store which didn't work - except with another adapter. So just make sure the cable's ACTUALLY ipod compatible - you want to make sure the pinouts match. |

Well, what i said is in my experience, and believe me, i tried with a lot of cables, and every one of theme works, the cheaper and the expensive one, and all of them with stereo sound and nice quality of video the only thing that i did is mix the conectors... you are right in wath you say about the ground, but if the ground is in the wrong place, just change that conector to another one and try if that works... look picture one (nothing on the tv), just dont work with the properly connection of colors y/y w/w r/r, but look in the secund picture (look at the GRID of the camera of the touch pro, the blank points on the TV), walaaaa just changing of place the cables works alright. with stereo sound and all stuf... both pics are from the pro, on saturday ill upload other... i dont have my camera around here... again sorry for my awful english... best regards |

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out
I know what you're trying to say, but you're wrong.
If the ground on the video cable matches up with the video output of the touch pro jack, then no matter how you swap connectors - you won't get video. Because the video out on the adapter, will always match up with the ground on the jack of the cable. In which case, you'd know because if you pull out the video cable a bit - then you might get a scratchy video signal. It's happened to me and others, and there's a diagram on this thread that you can search for - which shows how the different brands match up. Some brands will match up successfully - others will not. If it's a legitimate IPOD video cable, it will work. Use other cables at your own risk. If you still don't believe me, here's a source for the pinouts: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi...mm-pinouts.php So if you used an Archos or Cowon cable (for example) you'd get a black screen no matter what. Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out
I believe you, but any other cables maybe will works, and are cheaper than ipod cable, example: the generic the nokia N82 cable works, and is an generic A/V cheap cable if you ask for it in radioshak, here in Mexico the cost is 23 pesos, like a dollar fifty... Thats what i want to say... sorry for the confution, wath i want to say is ANY other maybe will work not necesary an ipod cable. =) sorry if i create a confution.

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out
Had an old iPod cable laying around...tried the hack. Didn't work with my TP2. Ah well, guess I'll be picking up the HTC cable.
rant....... You know, for as much as this thing cost me it should've come with: a/v cable, pouch/holster, travel charger. Blackberry is less expensive and comes with these items out the box (except the a/v cable of course). smh. end of rant. thanks for listening! |

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out
most likely the video is coming from the red audio output and one of the audio channels is riding the yellow.
