Re: Gotta love Sprint TEP.

LOL, it was a great story! Good stuff that it worked out for you like that!

Also, I received the notice in the mail as well, but if you look at all the phones and brands covered, HTC isn't even listed. Although, it does say if the phone manufacturer isn't listed, contact bla bla bla... but still found it odd.

Also, I used to have unlimited texts for $5 (I've been with sprint since august 2000). They upped the unlimited texts to $15 a month, and my plan never changed. It only changed when I did something to my plan (can't remember what exactly off the top of my head). I only remember that this is what happened b/c they didn't tell me it was increasing, and I called a few times b!tching about it, and they said that basically it only changed b/c i changed my plan.

I went with the limited text (like 500 a month i think), but that didn't work when i was sending over 2000 texts a month, so back to the $15...

If you INTENTIONALLY wreck your phone hoping to get the insurance company to give you a new one you are the problem. It is a crime, insurance fraud, and IS the reason the deductible is going up (to discourage your behavior).

It doesn't matter if you do it once or a million times it is still wrong. A murder is still a murderer, even if he only has one victim.

I got the list in the mail... The HTC phones ARE listed...

HTC does NOT sell CDMA phones to the carriers. It only sells GSM phones to the carriers directly. As a result CDMA HTC phones are sold by UTStarcom. Have always been. If you look at that list again you'll see a line for "UTStarcom PPC6850". That phone is the Sprint HTC Touch Pro...

Also, it was posted earlier why the concept of grandfathering doesn't work in this case. Don't like it? Drop TEP or eat the rate increase and let it pass... You will pay the new rate irrespective.

At least the monthly costs are staying the same. If you don't make a lot of claims it isn't really a cost we need to care about.

Re: Gotta love Sprint TEP.

these type of threads are bad. this is why we're hearing "anything" about a price hike in the deductible. as wack and stingy and unfamily-like as it may sound...some tricks u're jus "suppose" to keep to yourself.

this is what kiled sero and dropped call credits, etc. what if i was to tell you..."if u press 567 End on your device....sprint will deposit 5 grand in your account", exactly how long do u think that will last before they ended it? Probably not too long right? which is why i would never post a trick like that on a community website, and would continue to use it myself as long as i can.

whatever it may be, when everybody starts to do it.....it ruins it.

Wow... I thought these were phones.
And for what it's worth, "5-6-7-END" does not give you $5K. I just checked... in case anyone was curious.

i don't think it's person intentionally breaking the phone....i think it's the person telling the person about the trick of breaking the phone.

breaking the phone when u know u'll get a replacement $600 device is something anyone would do. but the geek who knows the trick, has gotta be smart enough to know that...."although i'm gonna miss my 200 thanks, telling everyone how to get a free touch pro is jus not wise on my part. because next year i won't be able to get the 'touch professional pro'."
