I got the letter in the mail. I did link to the same schedule of new fees that I got in the mail on Sprint's website though.

This is the cost of insurance fraud here people.
Yea, I agree it was bound to happen with all the mogul to TP conversions that aren't needed.

Re: Tep/erp

It's from all the people making bogus claims from bricking their phones to bogus chrome cracking issues. Can't blame them, but all it's done is make the honest people pay more to replace their phones for actual issues.

Re: Tep/erp

Ya i agree, when word got out about the recent "insurance fraud" rumors going around it sure made my job harder. its disappointing that people do this. i won't say anymore about this certain topic as i want it to end and thankfully they have started to catch on and are preventing people from doing it anymore. but now people have it in there heads and will try everything they can to get a newer device. as for the TEP/ERP info on this thread, its good info and thanks for posting it. its good to have a heads up before hand.

Re: Tep/erp

While I know that people do intentionally file fraudulent insurance claims, I can't say that's the cause of this increase, at least not the only cause.

It seems Asurion is structuring deductibles so that more expensive phones cost more money to replace. This seems like the logical thing to do. I mean, is it really fair that we can get a lost TP replaced for the same price as someone with a ****ty flip phone?

If this were a reaction to fraud, it would probably be in the form of an increased premium, not an increased deductible.

Yeah I agree, I read a few of those, and it was basically "I want a TP, how do I brick my mogul" those really upset me. I did, however upgrade from a Mogul to a Vogue last year, but I only called in and asked if they could do the swap, no BS, no Lies, no Fraud.

That was my first thought, but after remembering how many times I have seen people discussing how to get a free upgrade I decided to stick with the fraud part. The way I see it, if we didnt have peope intentionally bricking, breaking, or losing their ppc's when they become aware asurion is replacing them with a newer model some people will file a claim just to get it, therefor Asurion has to order more of these phones and that justifies them increasing the cost just for the higher end models.

I agree on the bricking the device, but the devices that were effected by the chrome cracking also had other problems. Also, it is unnearving to pay hundreds of dollars for a new device, regardless of what it may be, and to have the Chrome start to peel off within a few weeks because it was dropped from a few inches.

Re: Tep/erp

I started a thread about this last week here I guess the sprint person I talked to did know what she was talking about. Although she thought it was soon going to effect all phones with insurance.
