Closing Active Sync

How much power does Active Sync use to sync the time on the TP? Has anyone stopped that option and seen any improvement in batt life?

Also, if I disable Active Sync, does that stop me from recieving say my Yahoo emails set to send/recieve every half hour.

I searched and searched, but couldn't find an answer to either...
