Heck if it is a refurb, but it works great, with no cosmetic or hardware problems, I wouldn't really care too much, but it is the principle of the thing here.
i agree completely. my thought is i didn't originally buy a refurb so i don't want one.

Re: What is Sprint sending me to replace my Touch Pro?

Just recieved this from Sprint:

Order Summary
:
Phone Replacement Order Number: ESxxxx
Wireless Phone Number: xxx-xxx-XXXX

Defective Phone Information:
Model Name: UTSTAR PPC6850 WM6.1 PDA
Serial Number: xxxxxx

Replacement Phone Information:
Model Name: UTSTARCOM PPC 6850 WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1
Serial Number: xxxxx

Tracking Information:
UPS Tracking No: xxxxxx

The curious thing is, the replacement serial number is larger than the original by 111,846. If HTC follows the policy of giving every phone that comes off the production line a new serial number by just adding one, and my original phone was manufactured in mid-november. Then I mean, as long as this new one is in fact new, HTC produced 111,846 Sprint Touch Pros between mid-november and mid-january, a two month period.

Then again it may be a refurb, but I am hoping that since the serial number is a lot higher than the old one, its a new phone and not a refurb older one.

Frost, we know how hard it is to wait... especially when you don't know if you're gonna be relieved or disappointed when you open the box. But all you can do at this point is breathe and keep it off of your mind. One thing I've learned about waiting for packages is: they cause stress over something you can't control

So just relax, and when you do get your phone, LET US KNOW! We want to hear how happy you are that it's not a refurb

Re: What is Sprint sending me to replace my Touch Pro?

Calm down, its not a refurb. All my TP replacements have been via UPS Next Day Air Saver, and I just checked the boxes, all had a weight of 2lbs on them for all new in box.

A refurb phone would be a bare handset, and it wouldn't weigh 2 lbs.

Sorry,

went to take the bike out for bit. Notice under my name it says Carrier: Sprint, since they pay the bill; i'm a tech at a corp store, all I need is the esn and I can tell you if its new or refurb. And just an update for peepz here, currently as of today(this moment 2:03pm EST), anyone who has a TP and has to have a device order from a store, on our list, you will be getting a refurb. Unless its less than 30 days, then you will(should) get and in store swith out for a new TP.

All I have is the serial number in the email. When I get the phone, I would see the ESN, but I can just as easily type in ##778# and see if its a refurb that way.
