Re: What is Sprint sending me to replace my Touch Pro?

Just recieved this from Sprint:

Order Summary
:
Phone Replacement Order Number: ESxxxx
Wireless Phone Number: xxx-xxx-XXXX

Defective Phone Information:
Model Name: UTSTAR PPC6850 WM6.1 PDA
Serial Number: xxxxxx

Replacement Phone Information:
Model Name: UTSTARCOM PPC 6850 WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1
Serial Number: xxxxx

Tracking Information:
UPS Tracking No: xxxxxx

The curious thing is, the replacement serial number is larger than the original by 111,846. If HTC follows the policy of giving every phone that comes off the production line a new serial number by just adding one, and my original phone was manufactured in mid-november. Then I mean, as long as this new one is in fact new, HTC produced 111,846 Sprint Touch Pros between mid-november and mid-january, a two month period.

Then again it may be a refurb, but I am hoping that since the serial number is a lot higher than the old one, its a new phone and not a refurb older one.
