Physically moving keys and remapping them on Verizon TP

I guess this is a difficult request/question but I'll really appreciate your thoughts. I am seriously considering Verizon TP but am really ticked off by the stupid keyboard layout (M key on the right of arrow keys, . on the left of space bar etc.). My questions are:

1. Can the keys be physically plucked out and put into desirable location? I want to move arrow keys to the right, M button to the left, . to the right of space bar and Enter one above where it is.

2. After the keys are physically moved, can they be remapped in ROM/software somehow? (I know this is doable on PC, maybe on the phone too?)
