Thanks for the response guys. The problem is that the phone costs $579 without contract on Sprint (unless I do a contract and then break it which again is not worth it) and I'll get it for $270 with Verizon. Plus my account is through work (they pay the monthly bill but not the phone cost) so that adds an extra layer of complexity. That's why I wanted to just get it from Verizon and then make the changes myself. Oh well.
