How To: Set Up Visual Voicemail on your Sprint TP for Free(Working soon!)

Ok, so apparently now this has been red flagged by Sprint. Meaning no matter who you call or get directed to nor how many times you call back and get a different person, as soon as you request changing that voicemail number, they stop you and say "we are not permitted to change the default voicemail number for any reason, especially for visual voicemail" I didn't even say anything having to do with visual voicemail or call forwarding, all I asked when they picked up is, "yes I would like you to change my voice mail # to 813-200-0200. All I got was a big FU, and sent on my way.

Hell, the Tech I talked to even sited this thread specifically, saying they were overwhelmed with calls at one time for this request, but then they caught on and were from then on out told that absolutley no one is given authority to change default voicemail numbers.

So, sorry boys and girls but it looks as thou we're going to have to wait for them to wake up and make a legit option. But if I had to, I would say don't count on it any time soon. (to be available on all Sprint phones that is) Which is complete BS, because with the price that I'm paying for my family plan, (which one of the lines is an INSTINCT by the way) (which I had to specifically upgrade to allow the INSTINCT) for my monthy bill, everyone of those friggin lines should have visual voicemail.

But hey, if anyone ever finds away around going thru Sprint to change your default voicemail, PLEASE.........SHARE.

yup u summarized well, hit all the key points.

for the lucky few there's google voice, but I finally got a magicjack just for the local # and v/m to email. I just give that # to customers and warn them it's just a message service, but still the best way to reach me.

yeah but this has been known for months. the last time someone actually tried this was march. Even the last couple of post before yours were just random comments about it soon being offered. this post has been beat to death an it should be very apparent that this isn't possible anymore.

well for a first post it's not bad. besides, I needed the reminder that this annoys me. just another item on the list of reasons to drop sprint, but hopefully enough pressure will make them cave.. (yea right)

Just an update, i called today and they will do it, but they charge you 20c a minute per call, per voicemail to do it.

You're right, because searching wouldn't reveal this thread would it? I guess its better to repeat the same thing over and over in a single thread with no learning whatsoever, otherwise these people would be creating new thread after new thread.

Well, It took me about 10 minutes on the phone to get them to undo the change. It started charging me $.20 per min a month or 2 ago. Allwell. I didn't think it was the greatest anyways. Always had to install the app ever flash, and it would loose the last messages.

looks like ill have to call t2 till I win the lottery. sprint claims "LEGAL ISSUES" Cuz ppl were using other ppl cell nums to get their messages...
