Re: Splash screens and startup animations

I was making splash screen and start-up animations for the Touch (before I went to the Instinct). But now that I have the Touch Pro, I think I will revive my services in making these items, and of course as with the touch files, I will make installable cab files to make it easy to install...

Which start up animation are you refering to.
You will need a file explorer like RESCO...and it's simply a matter replacing the file...
I am not too sure that the file names are for the Touch Pro, but I will be playing around with it over the next day or too....
Plus when I find my cab file maker, I can make it REALLY easy for people to "install" the start up animations and splash screens....

and no I don't think you have to have a flashed rom, but a program like total commander would help
No I don't have "RESCO" or "Total Command." I'm not even sure what exactly those are and what they're used for. Obviously quite important though.

And when you ask "what splash are you trying to replace?" I don't know if this is the right answer, but bascially what I'm trying to do is replace the "Windows Mobile 6.1" green startup screen with the "iphone killer" screen.

Any help?!

I am assuming you have the "iphone killer" pic on your desktop/laptop computer. First you want to rename that file to the same name as the name of the splash screen (not sure of the name of the file off the top of my head).
THen move it to you SD card or somewhere on your PPC (but not in /Windows yet).
Either rename the file for the slash screen in /Windows (add a .bak to the end ot it) or copy it to you desktop/laptop.
Download either Total COmmander or the Resco File Explorer, and then move the renamed iphone killer pic that you saved to your PPC to /Windows, and when you are asked to replace the file click yes.

** you need Resco File Explorer or Total COmmander to actually replace the file, with out one or the other of those two you won't be able to replace the file**

Which would you suggest? TC or Resco? Does it really matter, maybe do I need both?

Re: Splash screens and startup animations

Total Commander is free. I don't think Resco is. I use total commander and really like it. I mean, it's fairly simple to use and really easy to learn.

Re: Splash screens and startup animations

Okay, so I just went to the properties of "iphone killer" and changed it to "welcomehead.192.png" but when I go to properties again, it still says that the type is "jpeg" Do I need to do all this in TC?

I just downloaded TC and have NO IDEA how to use it, lol. If I'm doing any of this right, what do I do now?
