I can't get the splash to work... I renamed it Start_640x480.gif.... when the phone boots up just get a blank black screen where the splash is supposed to be - the welcomehead works fine. Any suggestions?

Yeah it's the correct name - the original was named Startup_640x480.gif. I found out was I was doing wrong - got it working. Thanks anyway

Umm, I just got the "retro grey" iphone killer. And I'm not exactly sure how to have it as a startup screen. I have the stock sprint rom. Is that a problem? I think it is...

Anyone care to walk me through or at least a wee bit of advice? Noob here.

what splash are you trying to replace?

and no I don't think you have to have a flashed rom, but a program like total commander would help
