Will HTC give us an update

I know many of you have corrected the problems that the Touch pro has with rom updates but I was wondering if HTC will ever give us an update to fix the issues. I have been waiting to see if there is anything coming before i decide to flash my rom and add one of the many that are on this site.

If we know custom rom will always be better and you know they are better right now, why would we want an update? (except for the radio)

I think something coming from the manufacturer is always better ( if it fix's all the issues that the phone has). I know many people would disagree but that's my opinion on the matter

Well you are of course entitled to an opinion but i wouldnt expect an official one for a while

i don't believe htc is coming with an update anytime soon, the phone just came out. I haven't done any rom updates but I'm very familiar with them, I'm wondering which issues you're expecting to be fixed? The stock rom is very stable and the only real problems would be the heat and battery issues which aren't really issues, just gripes that people have. Other then that I don't see anything else wrong with the rom. People are using other roms, but I believe those are mostly just for speeding up their TP and making it more responsive.

Few things I would love on the list would be

Opera update
GPS Lag
FM radio

and of course everything mentioned above

being that htc waited about 9 months to update the vogue rom and even longer for the 6800,i wouldn't expect anything anytime soon.but our experts here always get leaked roms so be patient soldier.

totally noob question but what does the rom do? Does this change the layout of TF3D or just how the phone interacts with Windows Mobile???

The ROM is the OS + all the programs. Hope this helps.

Could have sworn there was a minor update for the 6800 within a month or so of its release. Could be akin to them fixing some issues with TouchFLO and Voice Command on the Touch Pro.
