Re: Default image viewer?

WhiteBlazer,
Download Resco Explorer. You should be able (like hbenz & saumann suggested) to change the file association. I was able to change it to HTCAlbum without a problem.

What they were suggesting finally sunk in.

I would have thought that TC does this also, I was going to ask you to check your programs by opening them first and browsing to the file but you've resolved your issue!! Yay!

to answer your previous ? TP associate said the same as my diamond... my internet and cable has been out since late last night so I'm just now getting back online.... sorry to be late with the reply but happy the situation is resolved for both of you!

Re: Default image viewer?

If you go to the registry, under the HTC Album Folder [I think HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum] there's a key for 'Default Viewer'

Not sure if that will actually change it, but it's worth a shot.

Tried it out, nope.. still opens with pictures and video.. though I'm not wanting to change mine anyway.. just thought I'd give it a try for reference.

Thanks for trying. Didn't think it would work though...

Aren't the file associations stored in HKCR?

Hey eenieMINI,

I had a similar problem as SkidRow2. I had TCPMP associated with my jpeg files. So all my jpeg files had a little TCPMP icon associated with it and only TCPMP would open my jpegs. After I changed the file setting option in TCPMP to exclude jpeg files, I could no longer open jpeg files natively from file explorer. I then tried re-associating my jpegs as you outlined in your post, and it worked! I think one of the key things to realize is that the Command line should be entered as :MSPIMG (note the presence of the colon) as you wrote in your post, and not just MSPIMG alone.

Now, if SkidRow2 (or anybody else for that matter) who has managed to associate his/her jpeg files to HTC album (by probably using Resco Explorer) would use Total Commander to select and hold on a jpeg file (using their stylus), and then select options, then properties, then Association and post what they see under the parameter information listed there.

Skid, First lets see if I understand your problem. You are browsing files using TC and see picturefile.jpg you click on it and/or hit the 'enter' button to open the file..... nothing happens?? Do you get a message for needing a program to open it?

Try this... using TC select the file with stylus, hold down for options and choose properties. Check the Associate tab what do you see?

Mine says .jpg -> jpegimage then an x and below that is a button for 'associate'.. if I click on that it says
Command: :MSPIMG Parameter: "%1"
Icon File: browsres.dll Index: -6704.....

What do you see? BTW I'm looking at the diamond screen not the TP screen as its not at home right now.

This worked perfectly. I used TC to view the properties of one of my .jpeg files and changed the command to \windows\htcalbum.exe and now all my .jpeg files open with HTC Album. Thanks for the help.
