Re: Default image viewer?

I'd download resco file explorer. It gives you an Open With... option in the context menu.

But any idea how to make all the pictures open with HTC Album? If I open a picture from an e-mail attachment, it opens with Pictures & Videos.

Skid, First lets see if I understand your problem. You are browsing files using TC and see picturefile.jpg you click on it and/or hit the 'enter' button to open the file..... nothing happens?? Do you get a message for needing a program to open it?

Try this... using TC select the file with stylus, hold down for options and choose properties. Check the Associate tab what do you see?

Mine says .jpg -> jpegimage then an x and below that is a button for 'associate'.. if I click on that it says
Command: :MSPIMG Parameter: "%1"
Icon File: browsres.dll Index: -6704.....

What do you see? BTW I'm looking at the diamond screen not the TP screen as its not at home right now.

Interesting eenie. I think you may be onto something.
To answer your first question.... yes, when I double click on the jpg while in TC, I get a message saying that it cannot open the file, it asks me to open a program to view (which works fine)

Now on the second part... when I goto the "associate" tab there is no association.

Would you mind looking at the b/f's TP to see what he has in the "associate" tab? I wouldn't mind changing. Hopefully I can change the value of the folder, instead of changing each pic.

Thank you for the knowledge!

Going off what eenie posted earlier, my guess is that you would need to set the "associate" value to open with HTC Album instead of Pictures & Videos. Now, the question is, what is that value.

Take a look at eenie's post above yours.

I think you guys missed on Saumaun's post, Resco explorer is a great registry editor and do es a lot more. If you have it, you righ click on any jpeg, and hit "open with" chose Album art prog by browsing to it. Now anytime you hit a jpeg Resco explorer goes to work:mrgreen:

hbenz...
Iget what Saumann is suggesting,
I Would rather not spend the dough.
Plus I have really grown quite fond of TC.
I certainly appreciate the help you
and saumann have provided.

I changed the command association and
got mixed results. It changes the icon of the
jpeg in either TC or File Explorer. Still cannot open though.

Surely it's just associating the file with the
program.

If someone could check out the "associate"
tab and share their info, maybe that
could get me back on track.

Thanks,
Skid

Re: Default image viewer?

Yup, like hbenz said it's a trial. I believe it changes the file association within the registry which means you should have no problem opening files from other programs.
