Over my head!

jdignazio, that is a very good thread gave me a lot useful information.
I guess people in that thread have tried almost all possible ways.
I feel very sad for that.

In my FMRadio reverse engineering work I have two puzzles: what is the first parameter in the FM_Create function? How to control volume of the device/why FM_SetVolume doesn't work?

they are may related may not.

I guess TP FM radio has special mixer/audio line control. whatever I set volume, the system override it. I am looking for the latest version of FMRadio.exe and dlls. If you find those files in a OEM package (not in ROM), maybe works.

Maybe in CDMA TP the mixer disabled FM radio line. Check AudioPara3.csv file it has a couple of line with "FM". I guess it is related to initialize audio mixer for FM radio.
I don't have CDMA TP so I can't provide further advice.

no, the problem isn't the PCM connection, it connects fine. The problem is the BRF6350 not entering FM mode.

http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/pos...-FM-Radio.aspx

a little more research shows that for some reason its 0ing the init script on the TP for some stupid reason. I'd like to know why...

I really want to say theres no hardware reason for us not being able to have FM radio, but I guess I can't be absolutely certain; all I can say is that it seems there are some unresolved software issue...

Re: FM Radio Discussion

Okay, well I finally got bored enough to do it. I got curious with this whole FM Radio thing, seeings how the Original Touch Pro was listed with the Specs that it had Built in FM Radio with RDS. However I also noticed that on the american versions, Their specs did not have a radio listed.

Well I got a wild hair up my ***, and decided to grab my tools and take apart my touch Pro, for a side by side comparison with my Touch Diamond. and yep. Sure enough, the Chipset is in the diamond for the FM Radio, but on the touch pro, its Empty. So that is why no matter how we try to change the dll files or registry edits or manual installs of the FM Radio Cab, we will never get it to work. With out the Tuner chip, all the programming in the world is not going to make it work. Its okay, I have a stereo, I guess I dont need one on my phone.

Re: FM Radio Discussion

Diamond is a sprint diamond, and Touch Pro is a US Cellular Touch Pro and the pics will be later, cuz I just put em back together and I gotta get dinner done and crap. But when I get a free hour, I will rip em apart again.
