Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

i don't know why anybody wouldn't use a screen protector... your phone came with one!

definitely use one... i've had pda screens get all scratched up in the past, and it sucks after a while. one of my diamonds got a nasty scratch on the screen protector, but i didn't have it long enough to buy a new one. it was very annoying... i couldn't imagine having to deal with that for the next year or two... if you want your screen to get scratched, fine... don't use one. but i think its just plain stupid.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

These things get scratched pretty badly. I have Scratches all down on the touchflo line. I noticed I must've had a micro piece of sand or rock on my thumbnail and it cut the CRAP out of my screen. I'm getting another one and you best believe Im going to use the screen protector. Also I got one of those technocell phone cases because the chrome on the sides of the phone gets scratched off making the phone look ugly, So there you have it, a phone with a scratched up screen and funky looking sides

What do you want from a screen protector? An impenetrable barrier? Maybe you guys set your standards WAY the hell too high. I completely fail to see what is junk about something that doesn't block, blur, swirl or impede your vision in anyway. It is virtually invisible when put on correctly. It is very tough also.

I used fellowes on my mogul and that was junk. Made the screen look ugly upon application and scratched to hell when using their install kit.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

I'm still using the screen protector that was attached when the phone came out of the box (just cut around the earpiece with a new exacto knife). It is scratched pretty badly on the scroll bar area - too much file explorer based tweaking. I'm waiting for the BSE full body protector to come in. I wouldn't want to get a single scratch on that screen.

As a side note, I had an Ipod Touch in a laptop bag pocket over a weekend, and it got a nasty scratch on the screen while in there. I don't recall the bag ever being anywhere where pressure would have been applied to that pocket, so I'd say it's always better to have a nice clear protector on screens - no matter how scratchproof they claim to be.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

first night i got a scratch, no idea how. not bad though. the included screen protector is great provided you:

(1) don't touch the sticky side - touch the edges/ the other side only
(2) line it up perfectly - you only get one shot
(3) use a credit card to get rid of the bubbles while you are placing it, because its hard to get them out afterwards.

The included protector seems pretty resilient. I messed up 3 times when applying it and it still stuck fine the third time. I've heard you can take it off, wash it, and re-apply it with no problems.

You can, the only thing you need to be wary of is actually damaging the sticky surface (rubbing off the stick) because then it will leave a permanent area that doesn't stick.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

I think not using an aftermarket screen protector is just foolish. (The one which comes with the TP is just good for only a placeholder - it peels and attracts so much grease it's like an oil spill--looks and feels bad.)

I bought and installed Ghost Armor and am very happy. Not only does it do a good job of protection it makes the usage better too - the device and screen now have a less slippery texture so screen swiping/stylus action is more accurate, and there is less grease/dirt buildup too.

INDEED. I finally got mine on after reapplying and washing, but it partially doesn't stick on the edges anymore. better than nothing though.
