How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

The iPhone is pretty legendary for its high-end glass screen that is very resistant to pocket scratches or every day use scratches. On the other side, by Blackberries (Curve and Pro) nearly always scratched at the first contact with my keys, so I always protected them.

I'd prefer not to have to put a protective layer on top of my Touch Pro screen, so... how scratch resistant is it? Do minor scratches affect the viewing of your screen? I'm not talking about stomping it on the ground scratches, but just from every day pocket or purse banging around. It is iPhone sturdy (i.e., nearly scratchproof and doesn't need a protective layer) or is it easy to scratch up? Thx!

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

Not at all and the screen protector it comes with is junk but put it on NOW! My screen got scratched the first night I owned it (got the screen swapped out by my buddy in service). I have the Ghost Armor full body and it is great (once they got me the right one). I died the battery cover black, applied my full armor and my device is in doing well.

I think it's just the price we pay for resistive touchscreens.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

i like the screen on my pro... just make sure you have a screen protector to take the lil scratches...

The iphones glass screen is blessing and a curse... my buddy has a nasty scratch on it, and it gets really annoying... PLUS, i can't even count how many people i've talked to who dropped their iphone just once and the screen shattered/cracked!

I've dropped phones plenty in the past, never cracked a screen... Tho, i would like to see a capacitive LCD replacement for the Touch Pro

I could never even think about giving up stylus functionality.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

I have the VZW Touch Pro, I've been using for 3 weeks now without a Screen Protector and not a single scratch. I like the material the screen is made of its like a very thinik scratch resistant glass. Maybe its just the VZW version.

It's not about fat or skinny fingers, you will never approach the precision of a stylus with a finger, no matter how thin it is.

iPhone styli are as large as a finger, at least the ones I've seen.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

Mine scratched up pretty fast. Lots of fine, small scratches. I pocket mine though so I think makes it more susceptible. Not nice dress pants but jeans and carhart overall pockets.

Re: How scratchproof is the Touch Pro screen?

Hmm... I've had mine for over a month and there's not the slightest scratch on the screen. I keep it in the holster when it's not sitting on my desk...
