Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

This thread has been real helpful. My card is a SanDisk 4GB, I finally found the class on the packaging and it is a Class 2! At this point, I think I will go online and get a higher capacity card with a higher class. I bought this 4GB on black Friday at a "discount" for $14. I'm almost wondering if SanDisk had some kind of deal with Staples and provided lower class cards for cheaper (just speculation).

Lesson learned! I will definitely try to download the album art via Windows Media Player.

Thanks everyone.

Generally you don't want to buy memory cards at a regular retail store, you will more than likely get raped on the price. You can get an 8gb card, higher than class 2, for under $20 online. As a matter of fact just the other day when I was pricing some 16gb cards I saw a 4gb class 6 for like $9.

I have an 8 gb Class 6 micros SD card in mine and it lags horribly. I find it hard to believe that the brand has that much to do with the lag I'm seeing.

Whenever I switch over to the music tab I must wait at least a full minute before I can even play the song. It may be due to the fact that I have 4 gigs of music and a view videos on it though.

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

doubt it dog, could it be the TP or the structure of the files? I too have an 8GB class 6 bought from neweg for 16 bucks shipped, and there is absolutely no lag. A GB of picture open in no time and music as well. All my programs are installed on the TP memory....I had a 4GB class 4 I think with the Mogul and with the TP with no lag. A minute to load is problematic...

Yeah tell me about it. I use windows media player on my PC to sync it with my phone so it used that file structure.

Takes a little while for the first pic to load in TF3d but once it does I can flip through the pictures without much lag. It's just the music. Not only that, every other songs album art shows in the TF3d tab even though all of them show in windows media player.

I've given up with the album art. The music plays fine once it loads too. Something I've just come to deal with.

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

Anyone else have problems with transferring larger files (50mb+) using the "Connect to PC via Disk Drive" or Active Sync? I have a 8gb class 6 and I get a "I/O Error" when trying to do so.

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

Sorry to report that i had that error once with a 4GB Scansisk and took many steps to correct it to no avail, tried formatting it,locking,uNlocking, using adapter, putting clear tape on the lock, plugging it directly to laptop.....nothing man, I ended up getting a replacement. These cards are sensitive, gotta be very gentle and careful taking them out..I have a thread somewhere in ppc about the prob...however I hope you can correct the prob. And that problem started after I loaded some large maps to it(over a Gig and a half), not sure what the prob was, it may have been that i took that Biatch in and out too much and didnt give it time to finish writing....even tried pocket commander that has a formatting and SD scanning tool ....

Not having any lag issues but somewhere I remember reading that the Touch Pro only reads/writes at class 2 anyways...

Correct me if I am wrong though.

Makes sense...although some people see better results than others. But that could be because of TF3D too..

That's probably what it is then. I like tf3d. It's functional for my needs. Like i said before, it's just something I've come to deal with.
