TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

Has anyone else tried to use a MicroSD HC card in their touch pro? I bought a 4 GB from staples and the phone seems to read it fine, although I have put a lot of mp3's on it and the lag is almost too much to bear when I select the music button. It's almost like the RAM can't handle the load.

The factory 1 GB MicroSD didn't show any lag at all loaded down with mp3's (i.e. there doesn't seem to be any direct correlation between # of mp3's on the storage card and lag in reading the card)

Also, what's the easiest way to get the album art for my mp3's?

Any thoughts?

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

The lag your experiencing is probably due to the class rating of your Micro SDHC card. I have found that when it comes to Micro SD card that you get what you pay for. In other words, a 16gb card for $9 bucks is "too good to be true". The higher the class the higher the cost. You get the picture. Class 6 should do the trick. As for as Album Art goes, if you're using a PC use Windows Media Player to download the art then sync drag in drop. That's how I did mine and all my Album Art shows in the Music tab in TF3D.

I'm using a 16GB MicroSDHC Card with no lag what-so-ever? What brand are you using, the class can also matter is it a Class 4? I don't buy anything but Sandisk cards because the others due tend to give me problems.

I have a 16gb sdhc card in my TP and 4gigs are mp3's. Disable the music tab and use a VGA AudioManager or S2P music player. You can find them both on www.xda-developers.com...

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

Just got the 8G Class 6 MicroSD HC that was on sale at NewEgg last week for $16. Works great.

Now I just need to figure out a way to fill it up.

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

Remember... Higher classes are better:

Class 2 - 2MBps
Class 4 - 4MBps
Class 6 - 6MBps

You may be having issues buffering your file.

Re: TP with MicroSD HC (high capacity)

i did a few benches with a class 6 8gb card and the stock 1gb and the stock one is slightly faster than the class 6 8gb so your problem is related to the class i suggest you return it and buy a class 6 from newegg
