Touch Pro BLANK SCREEN!!??

I just found this thread searching for 'touch pro black screen death'. Specific symptoms included the screen not rotating immediately when I slid out the keyboard, the screen being black but backlit when I turned it on (intermittently at first, then permanently), and very rarely the display being corrupted (thin grey horizontal lines/bars. Started after I rotated batteries (I have 2 batteries and rotate between them). Swapping back to the other battery seems to have improved (but not totally fixed) the screen-black issue. Sliding the keyboard back seems to trigger the black screen (and may have caused the unit to dump power once).

My suspicion is a loose cable from the main unit to the LCD module - that would account for all observed behavior - if the cable for the LCD is above the battery compartment...

Yeah, not in my case. I replace the whole front end of my phone (keyboard, flex cables, screen, and housing, still to no avail.

This is exactly what happend to me and it is covered under the insurance, they also waived the deduct since i had my phone only a few months

I'm in the same boat now. Exact same symptoms and I bought it used so there's no insurance and I will need to fix this myself.
Is there any more progress on a fix? I guess I could do the eBay thing but I don't want to spend $80 on troubleshooting that doesn't work.

I am having this same issue with the back light on but nothing on the display and I have noticed its bad and intermittent when the phone is on or being reset and hitting it sometimes solved it, but is not today, Also of note is when I am using the android for my phone this issue does not happen, now that seems way wacky.
