Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

You do have to use PIE, opera does not work... but all you are doing is logging in with PIE... I have logmein as my home page so it goes right to their site and all I'm doing in PIE is logging in. After that the logmein client takes over.

...and yes you do need to use KforTP to toggle the keyboard mode so it works in logmein.

I think the paid version has file transfer and a few other utilities... they aren't a big deal to me. Also, if you haven't already play around with the scale desktop to fit options in the logmein menu's... it's pretty cool stuff.

I never use Task Manager to close, I just hit the <- button and it asks me if I want to disconnect, I click yes, and it closes. No problems here.

Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

the program fails to connect and gives me three possible reasons:
1 your computer may not be setup to allow remote access
l know this is not the case becavse i am still able to connect thru my original program
2 reached the maxium number of connections
could this be my problem since i already have my original remote program
3 a network error occured while connecting

so it seems it wants to connect but there is a problem on my computer side. i did allow remote desktop connections, i activated everything in the firewall.... and my router setupe... but now im running out of ideas... a little bit of help would be appreciated....

Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

RDP is an important application to me, and a reason I've purchased Windows Mobile (and Pocket PC) devices for years now.

So I was very surprised to see that RDP was **MISSING** from my shiny new Sprint HTC Touch Pro. Hmmmm....

To attempt a workaround, I downloaded the standard .cab file referenced earlier in this thread, but soon discovered why Sprint left RDP out: almost as soon as I installed the .cab, the hardware keyboard failed. After de-installation, the hardware keyboard resumed operation. This software incompatibility is referenced elsewhere on this board; my experience unfortunately is not unique.

Is there anyone here who has used the standard Windows Mobile RDP/Terminal Services client with Sprint's Touch Pro? If you are doing so successfully, what software/hardware version of the device are you using?

Exclamation Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

Hi everyone!

My laptop isn't connected to the internet through a constant dedicated cable connection, but through a family member's wifi that lives 2 houses down, they gave me their WPA password, so I just leave it connected all day.

My question is, can I set up the baked-in HTC Remote Desktop program to work properly with my HP WinXP laptop with this configuration? I REALLY want to get things working - but I don't know how to set it up on my laptop, since my HTC phone asked for password, computer name, and login? THANKS!!!

not letting me use logmein in PIE - has a big "Flash" symbol, so guess Energy ROM PIE doesn't support flash?

Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

I got mine to work fine, im assuming u use WM6 RDP-Finster.zip, Computer is the ip internet address of the router, user name and PW of the PC's user account, u have to setup port forwarding on the router, and set a static ip for ur laptop, forward the port the program uses to the laptops ip, allow remote connectinos on laptop, in control panel, system, remote tab

Touch pro remoting in to windows 7 PC
