You don't need to install it, it comes stock on the TP.

If you are on the same router, you will probably need to use the IP instead for your connection.

First off, you need to set up your laptop with a static IP address instead of DHCP. Then make sure that remote desktop is enabled on your laptop. Next, you need to go into your router and forward port 3389 to the IP address you set your laptop to. Lastly, you need to set yourself up an account with Dynamic DNS or some similar provider, so that you can have a domain name associated with the dynamic IP address your provider is giving you. You then put this domain name into RDP on your phone.

Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

Go to your router. Setup Port Forwarding to route port 3389 to the internal IP address of whatever computer you want to RDP onto. When you're in the config for your router, note what your outside IP address is. RDP from the phone to the outside port... not exactly rocket science, and "all those ports" is one port.... ONE PORT. amen.

Ah, that was going to be my next question - can you zoom in on certain areas? Or is it locked to the screen size (ie - the entire desktop shows up on the TP screen)? I have to open folders with 100's of files, select all, click the first file, rename it, hit enter which then renames all of the files in sequential order, then move those files to a different folder for processing. I have a feeling that even with glasses, it would be tough to highlight a file and rename it.

I don't see anything related to Remote Desktop on my Sprint Touch Pro, any ideas? I want to use this really bad. Would be incredibly helpful.

Re: Using RDP (Remote Desktop) on a Touch Pro Feedback

The only wm6.1 remote desktop apps I've been able to use all crash when I try to close them. It's not a BIG deal but it'd be nice if it was a little better about it. Is this a common problem? Is there any easy solution? I've tried the finster version and the one in this thread. I did NOT uninstall between them though.

Then opened ORB and showed him how you can route your cable over the internet to watch on the phone.. Lets just say he's got me networking his home PC's now he was impressed... All thanks to the abilities of the TP.

how do you use the Remote desktop included in the ROM? I have not clue. Can you post directions?
