Re: PPC virus scanner for Touch Pro?
Just download from a trusted source. I don't even run them on my PC, regularly.
I just run the free Trend Micro Housecall, and it never finds anything. People just need to excercise good common sense, and judgement. I have been in IT for a long time, and it's mind-boggling how stupid people are. Why would you click on some random link in an email? Why would you download some unknown internet applet/program? Why would you give people your social security number/credit card number/address/birthdate/etc... Sometimes I wish we didn't have all these safety nets, so that people could be responsible for themselves. Now, a malicious attack, on the other hand, is different. A virus scanner won't help you anyways in that case. |

Re: PPC virus scanner for Touch Pro?
my little brother used to download files on aol that were blatent viruses. They promised "overhead" access to your account so you could boot people offline and scroll in chatrooms. so retarded
just thought i'd throw that in there in response to scrap lol

2 years with no virus protection, 2 years no viruses. I agree with scrapmaker, if you make good decisions on line, you wont have to worry about any viruses to begin with.

Looking for warez, illegal stuff, free stuff, whatever, that's when you find viruses. I have heard that companies are PAID to release stuff like that to deter the underground community. Similar to when the recording industry was leaking songs to Napster that had weird noises/pops/messages inside them, to anger the users. When someone sends me a video, greeting card, "funny song," or program, I just ignore the email. I don't open it, and even if it was not a virus, I am not interested in it in the first place. I have never had a virus in my life, but I have found programs online that have embedded viruses, and they are almost always related to the saying that "nothing in life is free." |

Re: PPC virus scanner for Touch Pro?
I agree with scrap. I also get blown away at how pathetic people's logic can be when it comes to computers.
I only need AV for the sake of protecting myself from rogue keygens [Of course, I never use them... ] |
